Using a fav author of mine to explore a subgenre that I really don't like very much! Still, I feel like this novella managed to sidestep the alpha bullshit that I hate so much.
⭐️⭐️✨
Book #22: Mehhhh. I still love Hibbert‘s writing, even in this smutty novel. I generally really like fantasy romance (like Laurell K Hamilton), but this one didn‘t feel exciting to me. It lacked the exciting character depth, and I may have enjoyed it more if I weren‘t just coming off those amazing Brown sisters books that are so much better IMO.
Such a fun paranormal Halloween romance between a huntress and the werewolf that knows she‘s his mate. Chastity knows the man coming into her coffee shop is really a werewolf and her family is a group of hunters. But she realizes quickly that there‘s more to Luke than the monster within.
Flashback to breakfast. I‘ve since finished MATING THE HUNTRESS, which was mighty cute for a romance between a vicious creature of the night and the highly trained huntress desperate to murder him.
I made my second #BlackPublishingPower purchase this morning—a Talia Hibbert novella for some non-American rep! (Geographic diversity is also important, friends.) I‘m in a UF mood at the mo and the reviews seem to agree this one‘s super fun.
Heck yes, gory/romance erotica with a werewolf who'd like to focus on his art and run through the forest eating bunnies, and a black woman warrior with at least eight siblings who would really like to kill him as a rite of passage. I'm sad we only got to meet her side of the family.
