Terminal List: A Thriller
Terminal List: A Thriller | Jack Carr
"Double the trouble, twice the action, and quadruple the enjoyment. Careful while reading this one, it could leave a mark."--Steve Berry, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Lost Order A Navy SEAL has nothing left to live for and everything to kill for after he discovers that the American government is behind the deaths of his team in this ripped-from-the-headlines political thriller. On his last combat deployment, Lieutenant Commander James Reece's entire team was killed in a catastrophic ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward avenging the deaths of his family and teammates. With breathless pacing and relentless suspense, Reece ruthlessly targets his enemies in the upper echelons of power without regard for the laws of combat or the rule of law. An intoxicating thriller that cautions against the seduction of absolute power and those who would do anything to achieve it, The Terminal List is perfect for fans of Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, Stephen Hunter, and Nelson DeMille.

Listened to Jack Carr on Joe Rogan experience. He was a good listen. Heard about his books on there. Then we watched the show on Amazon. Loved it so much. Excited to read the books.

Savage story of avenge and political corruption. Care has a talent for detailed descriptions of military procedure and weapons that at times went above my head. Exciting read.

We might be moving. Going to look at a house today. As such, I‘m supposed to be thinning out and packing stuff to get our current house ready to put on the market. So what do I do at the grocery this morning? Buy more books. 🤦‍♀️ you guys, I just have no shelf control at all.

DivineDiana That‘s why we are here! 😅🙋‍♀️📚 2y
CocoReads @DivineDiana I knew you would understand! I will say the house we‘re looking at today is double the size of our current little house and was built in 1910 so it‘s got a lot of built Ins already. Maybe not a lot of closets though in the bedrooms. 2y
DivineDiana That is fantastic! My house was built in 1929, so I am well aware of the closet problem. Then, I think during that time period, people didn‘t own so many choices. And maybe that was a good thing. 🤔 Good luck with your search! 2y

CocoReads Turns out there‘s closets in all but one bedroom. The stairs are narrow and steep so that‘s a bit of a drawback. The driveway is narrow and tricky but there is street parking. It‘s in town, and so close I could walk to work in good weather. It‘s the first house we‘ve looked at and so there‘s a lot to consider 2y

Bk3 of July & Bk2 of #JubilantJuly #readathon is done. I think audiobooks might be the way to go for now, at least I‘m finishing them! I was pleasantly surprised by this testosterone thriller, the MC does some awful things but I completely understood why he was doing it & was cheering him on. The narrator was perfect for the character & the fact the author had been a SEAL made it believable. 4.5⭐️ #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #AudiobookChallenge

Getting some more #audioknitting done to the surprisingly good thriller I started yesterday. I‘m trying to finish the blanket before bubbas 1st birthday🤞Almost at adding the next colour, just gotta choose which of the ones I have go best with the green🤔I totally recommend the audiobook, both the story & narrator are very engaging. They chose the right voice for this, he very much sounds like a Navy SEAL🦭⚔️ #JubilantJuly #readathon #litsycrafters

Got in a few hours of this thriller today, the 1st in a series about a Navy SEALwritten by an ex Navy SEAL. It‘s surprisingly good for a testosterone fest! Didn‘t realise it was a series on Prime though. Up next👍James Reece is the only survivor of an ambush on his last deployment. After coming home to find his family murdered, he‘s on the hunt to find the people who betrayed his team & killed his wife & daughter. #JubilantJuly #readathon

LibrarianRyan humm. Trying to decide if the cover looks more like Ben Aflec or Chris Pratt. or maybe.... cant think of his name..... 2y
Andrew65 Doing great 👏👏👏 The book sounds interesting. 2y

The author is a former Navy SEAL so his details and way of explaining situations paints a vivid picture. I also enjoyed the story of a SEAL out for vengeance after a corrupt plot has killed his family and SEAL team. It‘s well written so I for see myself reading the others books that follow this character. Quick read and if you enjoy the war/thriller type genre, you‘ll like this one.

Audiobook with the husband. He gave it four stars, I‘d have probably done 3, not because of the writing or plot, just more his thing than mine. But we are enjoying listening together, my sneaky way of helping him read more. 😉

I'm a mystery/thriller lover who doesn't like murder/extreme violence. I'd rather be challenged by a puzzle, but without gratuitous violence. Some authors provide this better than others. In The Terminal List, there's too much violence and not enough puzzle/thrill. The audio edition is narrated by the fantastic Ray Porter. [See comment for mild spoiler.]

JoyBlue There is a tiny, amusing twist at the end. 4y
Geenee 😂 that‘s no spoiler. 😊 4y
JoyBlue @Geenee 😂 I didn't really think so either; but, I don't want anyone to be mad at me. 4y
Geenee @JoyBlue relatable. 👍😊 4y

This author seems more interested in proving his worth as a military man by over-explaining ammo rather than creating amazing awesome characters, but the chapters are short and the action is moving along so the book is tolerable.

FANTASTIC!! This starts out with a bang and never lets up. I inhaled it and now my husband is reading it!!

James Reece is a good guy on a huge revenge mission. He absolutely fascinated me-his thought processes, his level of skill, etc. I love the way the author‘s own firsthand knowledge and experience as a Navy SEAL developed the character and gave the story credibility and authenticity. The audio, narrated by Ray Porter, is absolute perfection!

Bookzombie I‘m stacking this because I love Ray Porter. 🙂 5y

A really solid thriller! Jack Carr is a former Navy SEAL. He had to submit this manuscript to the DOD for review and approval- all of the redacted parts are still in the book, just blacked out, which I thought was a cool touch. James Reece is a badass character and a guy you will definitely root for. Will definitely check out the next book in this series. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Slowly making progress on my reading challenge! Determined to hit 50 this year

Picked this up on a recommendation from one of the best book Twitter accounts, TheRealBookSpy. If you are on Twitter and like spy thrillers (think Vince Flynn, Brad Thor, etc.) and are on Twitter, give him a follow. I have learned about a ton of great reads from him!

As the saying goes "Some people just need killing." This book takes that to heart and then some. Popcorn of the highest order. An action tale through and through. Starts with a bang and runs full speed till the end. This is a book that runs off fist pumps. It's Rolling Thunder meets Term Limits. If you are a fan of revenge fare, conspiracies, justice, and mayhem then you can't go wrong with this.
