Another book book in a series following Detecitive Annalise Vega. I really enjoyed the first book and while this one was good, it dragged a bit compared to the first one. A solid who done it with good characters!

The book was reviewed as a batch of horror stories but did not find that. It was a batch of short stories with some being sci fi and some being very slight horror. Being a fan of other horror authors I found this collection to be ok. There were a few with a sci fi theme which I enjoyed more than others.
A lawyer who details a number of assignments she had in various places overseas. Some interesting stories about places most of us don't want to visit but she's trying to make a difference. But author goes into sometimes too much detail which makes stories a bit disjointed.
The title states it as a comedy but it‘s just an overall odd subject. A brief read that kept me interested to see what happens to the main character. I didn‘t love it or hate it. Quite different than I‘ve read before. A good length as any longer and I would have probably lost interest.
I‘ve read a few of the authors books and enjoyed this one too. A few twists I didn‘t see coming and a satisfying ending.
I'm a Stephen King fan so this review is a bit biased. I enjoyed all the stories in this book. Some were more memorable than others but overall I really enjoyed all of them. My favorite was the story titled "Rattlesnakes". Whether you're a fan of King or not, it's a great book of stories.
My first book by this author who wrote crime fiction. This is his newest character, Nick Ryan, who has been brought into a new undercover secret police force. I would say that this is a fairly typical plot but I enjoyed his character and some of the others that were introduced to in the book. It‘s a fun read and I would read other books in this series if/when they come out.

A dark, somewhat horror, book in which every chapter is a member of the family speaking abd telling their story. I had read one of authors previous books and this was also a good read. If you like horror, you‘ll enjoy this book.
A story about domestic abuse and revenge. The author really doesn‘t get into the plot until about half way through the book as first half really focuses deeply on character development. It was slow at times but a satisfying ending.
A good book of short stories. They‘re thriller/suspense/semi-horror. I enjoy the author‘s other books and this was a fun read.
Interesting book about the author's career in the CIA. From her recruitment, her training and her departure she discusses it all and how it affects her personally. I enjoyed it. Perfect length and level of detail.
The second book in the series focused on Detective Ben Packard. This one he tries to solve a murder in his small home town of Sandy Lake, MN. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. I‘m looking forward to what‘s next for Detective Packard.
A quick entertaining read for any sports fan. No big surprises and some pages bring back great sports memories.
The latest from Stephen King continues the story of Holly Gibney, private investigator. As a fan of King‘s books, this is another good one. Another twisted mystery and murder for Holly to solve. Such a great character and really enjoyable read!!
The second book with her character Detective Vega. Another good mystery and an enjoyable book.
A good read that took a few twists and turns that I didn‘t expect. Not really a horror book, more of a thriller with some supernatural components. Different than I‘ve read before so I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed his first book in this series and this one was just as good. Same format and focused on finding a potential serial killer. The ending sets up a third book in the series. Enjoyable read!!
A gothic thriller that I enjoyed. A bit slow in the middle but it all moves to a surprising and great ending. I was so satisfied when the book wrapped everything up after some twists and turns. An enjoyable read.
This is the first book I bailed on in a long time. I was about a third of the way through and the stories just didn‘t grab me. I‘m a huge Stephen King fan but these stories just didn‘t do it for me.
Another adventure or mission for James Reece. This book continues the story of the main character and to right the wrongs of the country and the world. Another entertaining read where you root for James Reece and his revenge on the evil of the world.
An interesting book that is a Western but has a supernatural spin to it. A homesteader looking to make a fresh start in Montana has an usual secret. It's a good read with satisfying ending.
As a diehard baseball fan and a person who's watched the movie Bull Durham countless times, I enjoyed this book. Ron Shelton provides the background on the idea, the script and how the movie was made. Very enjoyable insight by Shelton!
An interesting and sad part of our history. I knew nothing about this tragic story and so glad I read this. It angers you and it‘s upsetting of what happened. Well researched and written by the author.
A book of short stories of varying subjects. Personally I put this book away a few times as the stories just didn‘t grab my attention. Well written but a book that was not one I would recommend.
The second book in the series following Detective Vega. I read a review of this book which had me start the series from the beginning. This is book 2 in the series. An enjoyable read and Vega is a character you truly root for. A good mystery as she tries to solve a few murders set in the Chicagoland area. She has a third book in the series coming in August 2023.
This is the first book in the authors series about Detective Vega. I wanted to read this first before diving into the most recent book. It was a good read and I like the character, Detective Annalise Vega. A few good twists as she hunts for a serial killer and a satisfying ending and good lead into the next book.
I've enjoyed Rick Reilly from his columns at Sports Illustrated to his books about golf. He's a golf fanatic like I am and this is another easy and enjoyable read. I don't believe it's his best book but I still enjoyed it. It's amazing to hear about some of the golf courses he's played and it's good for the reader to dream about doing the same.
I didn‘t even know about this book as found a random review on social media. It seemed interesting so I started to read it and I really enjoyed it. Good characters, supernatural type plot and overall a fun read
I picked up this book after reading positive reviews. and was my first read of this author. It took me a little while to get into the book and while it was wrapped up well at the end, I personally didn't appreciate it as much as most readers. It focuses on one man and his experience with time travel.
As a big music fan, including the music of AC/DC, I really enjoyed the biography of Brian Johnson, their lead singer. The book starts at the very beginning of his child hood and goes into much detail about his early years and band he played in before his breakthrough with AC/DC. Surprisingly, the AC/DC portion is a small amount of the book. Very interesting and really enjoyable read!
An excellent novel! The character of Bill Summers, an assassin, telling the story of a complex job. Stephen King remains a master of words. The story is so well written that I was engrossed from the first few pages until the very end. The ending caught me by surprise but was excellent. Wow!!
I read this book after Stephen King recommended it on his Twitter. It was a cool plot with some interesting characters but I felt the story dragged a bit. The ending wrapped everythjng up but wasn't as good as I had hoped.
This was an interesting book following the story of a man on an interesting adventure with so not too likable accomplices. The book has a few supernatural aspects which was interesting. Overall, the book kept my attention and the ending was satisfying.
The deputy of a small town, Ben Packard, tries to solve the mystery of two missing teenagers. I liked the main character and overall story. A bit predictable but an enjoyabke read.
I had a hard time getting into this book and it just didn‘t flow well to me. The story could have been intriguing but to me, was really dragged out. It was highly regarded and even on Barack Obama‘s summer easing list but I don‘t understand the interest in this book.
I‘ve really enjoyed the first few books in this series but I found this one an average read. Jack Carr is a good writer, well developed characters but this one just didn‘t grab my attention like the others. The main character James Reece continues to get his revenge and the book sets up the next in the series. I‘ll pick up the next one when it‘s written but for now I‘ll move on.
Such a good book. About 2 crime families, one Irish and one Italian, and their fight to control a city. I've read a few of Winslow books and this didn't disappoint. This is a first in a trilogy and I am already looking forward to the next one. Really good!!
I read this as it was recommended by our local paper. The stories are about his relationship with nature and climate change and a few other aspects. I just could not get into the book and gave up about 200 pages in.
A really good ending book to the Gwendy trilogy. I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two but the plot is very unique. The ending is very satisfying and I really enjoyed this and the three books.
This was my first read of a true crime/fiction book. The author placed himself and his hometown as the backdrop for this story of a suspected serial killer living among the townspeople. A unique story that I‘d recommend. I really enjoyed it!
My first book by this author and I enjoyed it. It dragged just a touch in the middle but it picked up quickly. I enjoyed the characters and overall plot of a women in hiding for 10 years suddenly on the run again trying to save herself and her family.
This second book in the series is written by Richard Chizmar alone and I really enjoyed it. Such a great continuation of Gwendy and the button box. Gwendy is such an interesting character and this story finds her in adulthood now. Good read!!
I found out this was the first of a book trilogy so had to check it out. A very quick read but really good. I can‘t wait to dive into book #2.
