Hive Queen
Hive Queen | Tui T Sutherland
Growing up in the hives, Cricket has always had a million questions. Why are trees forbidden, even in art? Why do her parents seem to hate her? And the biggest, most dangerous and secret question of all: why is Cricket immune to Queen Wasp's powers? Whenever the queen takes control of all the HiveWings, speaking through their mouths and seeing through their eyes, Cricket has to hide, terrified of being discovered. Now she's hiding again, wanted for stealing the Book of Clearsight along with her new SilkWing friends, Blue and Swordtail, and the fierce LeafWing, Sundew. The fugitives need answers, and fast, in order to prevent a LeafWing attack. But Cricket has more questions than ever. How can she stay hidden and discover the queen's deadliest secret? And if she does succeed -- can a powerless dragonet really do anything to topple a regime and stop a war?

I started off reading the Wings of Fire series to my daughter at bedtime, but then she took off and decided to read them on her own. 😁
I told her I would read them, too. She has already finished all 15 books, and I am playing catch up.
This is #12 and the 3rd arc of the series. They are really great books and I am glad she enjoyed them so much. 😊

This book was just as intense as the first in this storyline. We loved getting to know cricket and watching her character grow and be compassionate towards all sides during the discrimination that occurs. These books are great conversation starters for real world situations.

I'm not very far int it but so far it is good. Blue is a silkwing and has just came out of his cacoon of flame silk. Blue and cricket and a couple of there friends are going to a hive to stop an attack. If you like books that have talking dragons in it you will like this one. The genre of this book is fantasy.

MissYaremcio Great review Andrew! If you like dragons I have a ton of books for you! 5y

Just found a package on my front porch, with this book inside. Package was addressed to me, but I didn't order this. . .

StellarDoc There was no packing slip, so I have no idea. And it's book 12 in a series. 🤷‍♀️ 6y

Burned through #WingsOfFire #TheHiveQueen in ONE EVENING it was so good!!! It tackles a lot of heavy issues of racism and rebelling against oppressive governments in an accessible way, but without sugarcoating it. A great entry into this series!!
