so-soI ran hot and cold with this one. At first totally drawn in. Then yeah, not so much, found reasons to put it down. Never a good sign. Slogged through it, and it eventually picked up but not enough for me to be excited about it. Loved the setting. New Orleans and I loved the legend but yeah just not executed in the best way ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (barely).

I definitely got lots of Beauty and the Beast vibes from this one (which is fantastic because I‘m a sucker for Beauty and the Beast retellings). This was a sweet love story full of heartbreak, friendship, angst, betrayal, mystery, history, pining, and self-love. Sheridan doesn‘t give us one, but two star-crossed romances that will make you want to read late into the night to see how the story will play out.
