Book 87
I listened to Harvesting the Heart by Jodi Picoult. Paige grew up without a mom and marries Nicholas without his parents' approval. She supports him through medical school. *TW: Explicit heart surgery descriptions. (Hearts creep me out!!!)* When she has a child, she realizes she doesn't know herself. The story moves very slowly! The characters aren't likable! There's nothing to recommend this book. Picoult has written a lot better!
I do really like Jodi and her writing but this one took me way longer then it should have. The characters annoyed me from time to time and i didn‘t care too much for the ending
I have always loved Jodi Picoult. Somehow there are a couple of her books that I have missed. Got to get them in.

I love her earlier works! Didn‘t care for her last one… hopeful for the new one!! 🤞🤞🤞

Paige has only a few vivid memories of her mother, who abandoned her at five years old…now she has a child of her own….she is overcome by the demands of having a family.

Paige was raised primarily by her dad since her mother left when she was only five years old. Now that she has become a mother, will she be able to stick around for her son?
There was something about Paige I really liked in this book, but I‘m still struggling with the idea of her husband. He redeemed himself (without giving spoilers) but he annoyed me through most of it.
Overall not many characters to have to remember and simple plot to follow.
I really enjoyed this book although I struggled to get into it at first. It took me ages to read the first part of the book but then I couldn‘t put it down for the rest of it. Such a good book, I love how she can write so well as so many completely different personalities.
An exploration of motherhood, with depth and emotion

Jodi Picoult is a gifted writer. I have forgotten how powerful her stories can be! She will continue to be one of my most favorite authors.
I'm normally a fan of Picoult books, so it's shocking to me how much I hated this one. I'm actually surprised I was even able to finish it. I found all of the characters incredibly annoying and unbelievable. Worst if all, I never cared about the outcome. Overall, a huge disappointment.
"And then this girl, this waitress, had drawn a picture of him that was absolutely amazing. Anyone would be able to copy his features, but she had got something other than that." (Page 27-28) #jodipicoult #harvestingtheheart
Late-night reading (LNR) with Picoult. This woman is a true storyteller and she will draw you into her magic!
Could go work out...but it's rainy and I just treated myself to sushi and I have chocolate cake and a candle lit and I started my second book today cause I'm indecisive, so maybe I should focus on reading, right?
