I almost bailed it was that slow. Also, the plot was very bland, subpar, and predictable.

Not what I thought it would be, but still really good! 39hr 75mins for #AwesomeAugust🥳
Not much time for reading this week as I‘ve hit 37 weeks and according to doctor baby can come at any time! Been slowly writing back to my #litsylove pen pals (please bear with me) while I finished babies mermaid themed nursery. I really hope she likes it.
Book 5/50. Such an interesting premise, and the book was a slow, brilliant build up to the very ending. Rating: 4.5/5
If this book was about a hundred pages shorter I would have liked it better. The middle and ending dragged on and on and it was so unnecessary. I skipped a few chapters to get to the end. Also, I didn't really care when I came upon the twist. 🙄
I had a book hangover after Shirley & Genji. A part of me was still in ancient Japan, enjoying the moon under the cherry blossom trees, while another part was with Caroline & Shirley, eating bread & milk in a darkened dining room. So I turned to a psychological thriller from #netgalley to pull me back into the present. This was a treat. No ludicrous twists & a sharp take on the creative & entertainment industries. I also liked the gender politics.
I was pleasantly surprised by The Temp. It led me down a path then switched gears + took me somewhere completely different. I especially enjoyed when a secret revelation ramped it up another notch! From start to finish I was hooked with its very credible portrayal of Carrie, in her 40‘s whose life plan suddenly changes, a selfish husband I strongly DISLIKED, + temp Emma a neurotic writer (I actually did like!) The Daughter releases in June. 4 ☆

This has some interesting twists towards the end.. 👍🏻
Loved this authors first book ‘the girlfriend‘ and this one did not disappoint! Finished it within a couple of days couldn‘t put it down, such a page turner and very creepy 😬
Carrie and Adrian are martied and working together, Carrie falls pregnant and fills in for her in the office as her temporary replacement. Emma seems determined to get revenge for something but her vendetta is on Adrian not Carrie. What is she up to? She seems to have built her world on lies. This was a suspenseful read with a plot twist that I did not even anticipate to the point of it had me putting my Kindle down and saying what did I miss?!
Holiday Granola! ❤️🌲☕️
