Next book done in my #PhryneMarathon One of my faves coz not only is there so much of Phryne‘s backstory, there‘s a heap of Bert & Cec, my two favourite wharfies. I love how the author weaves real people into Phrynes story, there were so many characters in Paris after WWI, like Dolly Wilde, Oscar Wilde‘s sister & all those artists in Montmartre(making P into an artists model was inspired)I would‘ve loved to be a part of that talented, crazy bunch!

Book 12 in my Phryne Fisher reread is one of the best in the series and one of my favorite episodes on the show as well. I love this one because we get some of Phryne‘s backstory in Paris during the war. As always, the cast of supporting characters is stellar and the audiobook narrator is phenomenal. I‘d highly recommend this series. 5⭐️

Bk12 of my Phryne Fisher reread is done ✅This is one of my favorite Phryne stories because it gives the reader part of her backstory, where you find out about her running away at 17 to drive ambulances in WWI France, on to her becoming an artists model in Paris when the Great War ended. The secondary storyline about Lin Chungs bride & Mr Butlers umbridge combine to make this a thoroughly delightful novel. #phryneappreciationclub💃🏻

#SeptemberDanes #day13 #BonjourMadame I was going to post the French classic Les Liaisons Dangereuses for this prompt but realised I don‘t have a photo of my copy & as I‘m back on crutches(my knee died again🙄)getting to it is too hard.So I‘m going with my fave Phryne novel.Bert & Cec ask Phryne for help after their fellow soldiers are killed.Realising it all goes back to an unsolved murder in Paris after WWI,Phryne discovers she is also involved.

This is about as much #suspense as I can handle these days. I like my mysteries a little less intense 😁😁

Plans for tonight. I had hoped to finish Murder in Montparnass yesterday, but l basically fell asleep. I wanted to finish The Neverending Story tonight and start February with a new book.

Oh, well, l think l'll finish at least this one. But first, today chapter for #LotRChapterADay 😊

Started this yesterday on the train home. From what l hear, this is supposed to be one of the best of the series.
I'm eager to learn more about Phrynie's past.

I have a question. From another novel, l had the impression Phrynie was approaching her 40s, but from this book's calcolato, she is 28.
Anyone may illuminate me?

My last book was a disappointment but I can always count on Phryne for an enjoyable story.

Comfort reading because fucking hackers have stolen all (literally I have £10 left in the world) my fucking money and it does not look like I will get it back. Thank goodness for Phryne, who always saves the day.

I get to comfort read whatever I want for a week on the strength of this, right?

I have checked off a few in #tbrbingo world! This Phryne Fisher story was set up with flashbacks of her time in Paris during WWI so I used it as a book set in Italy or France. It was a cute little mystery. Not the cleverest tie together at the end but still satisfying enough.

Reading the more light hearted Phryne Fisher, then some Hedgehog- bookclub is a week from Tuesday & I have slightly under 200pages to go. Finding I need to read this book in spurts & offset it with other books.📚🍺

The flappers, beads, the charleston, Tiffany lamps & columns.One of the reasons I love the Blue Mountains so much is because its heyday was the 20s & 30s so the architecture and vibe is so Art Deco. In books,I have a few series set then,but Phryne Fisher is the most Art Deco of them all.She's a bright young thing,a woman out there on her own kicking arse. Flapper beads, feathers & all.

Love love love this series! No12 in The Hon.Phryne Fisher Mysteries, this was fantastic. I loved the Paris 1918 parts, I loved the Hugh Collins part, loved the missing girl investigation, and love Lin Chung & his relationship with Phryne. The only thing I didn't love is that it's the last book I have, chances of getting to a bookstore are zero & there's no chance of getting an online order before xmas😫 #phrynemysterytour

Currently reading No12 in the Phryne Fisher Mysteries.In the tv series,this is my favourite episode,about Paris after the Great War,Bert & Cec witnessing the murder of a painter & Phryne as a life model for the same painter.The book is just as good, with Phryne trying to find whose killing off Bert&Cec's mates whilst also trying to find a young women who is betrothed to a French chef & dealing with Mr Butler who is upset about Lin Chungs marriage.
