Part ghost story, part Nordic thriller - this is a twisty, tense and spooky YA debut, perfect for fans of CORALINE and Michelle Paver's DARK MATTER. Martha can tell things about a person just by touching their clothes, as if their emotions (…more)

The jar has chosen. Anyone read this? It's weird jumping themes for me as I normally read based on the theme of the book lol so jumping from Peter Pan to this could be interesting. But this is my 4th book since doing the book jar so it's getting me out my slump.

This book is the story of a young girl who discovers that her family tree is far more unusual than she ever imagined, and what horrors and responsibilities come with that.
For me, it reads like an author's debut novel (I no idea if it is or not) where she had the crux of a great idea but not necessarily the detail to back it up. The characters lack depth, and everything feels too easy to resolve, but overall it wasn't bad. 3/5

#BookMail Pt2 This one is set in Norway, about a girl whose had the ability to touch peoples clothes & see their memories since she fell out of a tree at her grandmothers & was blinded in one eye as a child. As she gets older she wants to understand her gift more & goes to her grandmothers cabin, but Mormor is dead & there‘s a stranger living there. Then the spinning wheel starts creaking & books are moving on their own and terror takes over.

When I started this book I didn‘t know what to expect. I‘ve never read a book that is Norse Mythology and mixed with ghosts and romance.
I enjoyed the book. It wasn‘t so heavy on the mythology that it was boring and the romance wasn‘t so in your face it was teenagerish. It had a mixture of all and was told well. I would not rush out for more by this author but if there was a sequel to this book I would read it to see how it is developed further.
