These books on poetry are very different but their theme is similar: the power of words.

Here‘s my last ditch effort to get a couple more people to sign up for Group U (poetry) for Round 13 of LMPBC. Check it out! No rules, just rhyme (or no rhyme, if you prefer)!

mcipher I‘m in! So excited for poetry!! 3y
Butterfinger I did it. Would narrative poetry count? A novel in verse? 3y
Readergrrl @Butterfinger What I love about poetry is its vast array of forms. I think narrative poetry/novels in verse would certainly count, as well as collections based on topic, style, or by a single author… There is so much out there! 3y

Readergrrl @Hazel2019 @mcipher @Butterfinger I‘m going to explore a little and find some books I‘d like to read. I‘ll create another post, so you can all help me choose mine. I don‘t want to select a book everyone‘s read before. Of course, with verse, that‘s often the point. 😊 3y
Hazel2019 @Readergrrl @mcipher @Butterfinger I will do the same! Need to come up with some options 🙃 3y
mcipher @Readergrrl @Butterfinger @Hazel2019 I‘ll work on a list this weekend 👍👍 3y

This books was awesome. I‘d give it two 🤘🏻🤘🏻 if I could. It‘s not just about writing poetry. It‘s about connecting to yourself and your environment, about finding that inner child and working through your shit in poetry. This is a keeper book for me.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Love it when a book hits the spot!! 4y

#24B4Monday

I did attempt to read this morning, but Scout had different ideas. He wanted all the attention. Now that it‘s supper time I‘m hoping he‘ll go eat while I read for a free minutes. 🤷🏼‍♀️🐶

#24B4Monday #poemcrazy

I‘m currently up to just over 5 hours. I‘m really enjoying Poemcrazy! It‘s very inspirational. Grave Secret is book 4 in the Harper Connelly series. I debated on reading this book because of an unexpected and not so great twist in boom three.

AllisonM89 Oooo! I've heard good things about poemcrazy! 4y
jb72 @AllisonM89 I am really enjoying the book. I got mine used on amazon. She gives wonderful advice and fun poem practice. 4y
Andrew65 Great time, I keep meaning to try Charlaine Harris. 4y

Have you ever read a book that helped you form a collection of words that guided you with inspiration to create beauty from your observations? Poemcrazy: Freeing Your Life With Words is that book. This book definitely freed me. It showed me that my view of life is filled with wonder & blessings which added to my love of creative writing. Some people have self-help books, i have inspirational poetry.
What do you use to widen your 🌍 view of life?

cozypunk Thank you for reminding me that I have this book! 🙈 5y
LinesUponAPage @dwRavenPuff have you read it? Did you feel it inspired you? 5y
cozypunk @Lifeisasnap I read it back when it first came out and loved it so much, that I've kept it ever since. (And I don't hoard books!) It did inspire me. I liked how short and practical the chapters were. And how you don't have to read it "in order." Now that I have kids, I'm going to revisit this with them. 5y

Dinah and I are celebrating World Poetry Day by reading this delightful book! Part essay, part writing practice, Wooldridge delights in words and gives plenty of advice on how to collect them and put them together in the most unusual ways to create poetry. It is more like going on an adventure than “learning “ to write poems. The picture on the cover pretty much sums it up!

When I'm having a bad day (or week or month) I seek out books. These two were my finds at the Co-op book exchange shelf today at lunch. 50 cents each felt too much like stealing so I donated $1.00 each.

2BR02B The Fireman was a great escapist read, and surprisingly upbeat for apocalyptic fare. 6y
TK-421 @2BR02B Cool! I may need to put this closer to the top of the TBR pile! 6y
