Percy Jackson and the Greek Gods
Percy Jackson and the Greek Gods | Rick Riordan
"If you like horror shows, bloodbaths, lying, stealing, backstabbing and cannibalism, then read on..." Who could tell the true stories of the gods and goddesses of Olympus better than modern-day demigod Percy Jackson? In this action-packed tour of Greek mythology, Percy gives his hilarious personal views on the feuds, fights and love affairs of the Olympians. Want to know how Zeus came to be top god? How many times Kronos ate one of his own kids? How Athena literally burst out of another god's head? It's all here in black and white...

5✨

I've forgotten how much fun these books are.
I've read many Non-Fiction and Fiction about the greek gods, but the way this is told made me feel I really got to know these characters.
Made me want to re-read all Riordan's books again.

All of the book's story takes place in Greece. Since the book is practically just real life old Greece tales of their Gods, if the country were to change, I think it would be Egypt. SOme stories in Greece had connections with Egypt too actually. Maybe some Gods would be changed and altered, but the closest country I can think of that's similar to greece would be Egypt.

Genre: Young adult fiction, greek mythology, young adult fiction, fantasy fiction

Date Started: december 6th

Date Completed: December 10th

How did you choose this book: My brither gave it to me

Summary: The narrator percy jackson explains his version of the greek mythologies. Percy tells this story from a very interesting and funny point of view as he explains each myth in how he think or feels it should have happened.

All the popular Greek gods and goddesses get their stories told from Percy Jackson‘s snarky perspective. Lots of humor and sass and the book itself is gorgeous. Would make a great gift for young (or young at heart) mythology fans.

stargazerblue49 Moar things I have also that have not been read because reasons and being bad at series... 7y
LibrarianRyan @stargazerblue49 I've read all the Lightning their series and the Red Pyramid. But I didn't like the ending of LT and I hated RP 7y
stargazerblue49 I loved the Olympian Series and I loved the Roman/Olympian series that came after. I am also in love with Magnus Chase. But I didn‘t dig the Egyptian series as much, unfortunately. Not sure why. 🤷🏽‍♀️ 7y
LibrarianRyan @stargazerblue49 I agree. I didn't like the Egyptian series either and I stopped reading Riordian after book 1. But I intend to pick him up again. 7y

For my first Litsy post I thought I'd share with you one of my favourite series ever! As a kid with dyslexia, Rick Riordan's work really helped me feel less self-conscious about my everyday struggles. So I guess it's only fitting that I honour Percy and Annabeth by turning them into bookmarks.

Also, Percy Jackson's Greek Gods is an awesome run-down on some of the best Greek myths.

They were so much fun to sketch up, I'm so happy 🙌

Finally had a chance to finish this! I love the Percy Jackson universe, and I've been obsessed with Greek mythology since I was little. So much fun to dive back into the familiar stories with a twist; only downside is that I didn't like how the narrator said some of the names, they didn't match with how I say them 🙈 I think I'll have to watch the movies now since I don't have the books with me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #readingforfunmmd #subjectyoulove

How do I celebrate being done exams? Typing up my notes from all my literature courses while audio booking! 😱

B.Reader That's impressive. I can't manage to listen to one narrative and write something else...I would eventually be typing up the book! 8y
cleoh @B.Reader luckily I don't have to pay attention to what I'm typing, otherwise I'd do the same! 😂 8y

Entertaining and full of many great myths and bundles of humor, just like we expect from Rick Riordan.

I love Percy's take on mythology. Trying to decide if I want to put this in my classroom while we start talking about heroes or keep safe at home. #teacher #classroomlibrary

This book is so giant and yet so worth reading. I cannot get over the sheer amount of snark in it. This book is amazing and tells the stories so well.
