Listened to the audiobook for #SeasonalCozies & I‘ll give it a soft pick for the food & the fact it‘s centered around a contest for my favorite Thanksgiving dish of stuffing. I enjoyed the characters, but it got pretty crazy at the end & not at all believable even for a cozy. If there was a hard way to do something or a way that really made no sense, the MC & even the police did it. I also forgot it was written in ⬇️

DebinHawaii … 2008 so the fumbling use of a flip phone in a “stakeout” situation by the MC had me rolling my eyes until I looked & saw flip phones were still in use then (although on their way out). Since I listened to the audiobook, I didn‘t get the recipes but they sounded good. I might give the next book in the series a chance & it was a light fun November read & free on Audible for me. This cozy mystery was so crazy - eccentric characters, bizarre situations, and some pretty unbelievable moments. Yet, a good way to suspend belief and escape reality for awhile. Lots of characters in this one, and I think some of the situations in this novel definitely fall into the #BumblingDetective category. Fast read, and I may try the next in the series at some point. #BBRC #Adult

This was a fun listen, and I'm looking forward to continuing the series. There were those eye-rolling moments and conversations with characters designed to get your goat, but overall I enjoyed the story and the mystery.
