Probably won't join in every month, but this is what I'm thinking about for February, when #foodandlit visits Vietnam.

I majored in History in college and took many classes on Southeast Asia. Last Night I Dreamed of Peace was one of the books assigned and it is a heartbreaking account of the Vietnam War. Dang Thuy Tram was a young doctor on the front lines of war and her diary shows the human toll war has on people. #setinsoutheastasia #aprilbookshowers

First day in Saigon I visited the War Remnants Museum. 2nd pic on the left, people were shot right after the photo was taken. The staggering images left me so overwhelmed I fought back tears numerous times. From Rolling Thunder to Napalm death to Agent Orange, the exhibit offers a comprehensive timeline in POVs of journalists around the globe. Not for the faint of heart, but definitely the most meaningful museum I've ever visited in my life.

SaraFair As the camera technology gets better, the easier it is to capture those horrors. Tough to look I bet. 8y
batsy Great post, those pictures are devastating. Was in Saigon for the first time last year. This museum and the Cu Chi Tunnels ... a life-altering experience. Imagine having lived through it. 8y
