In this gripping domestic thriller, a group of privleged suburban moms amuse themselves by Googling everyone in town, digging up dirt to fuel throny gossip. Caroline Thompson, devoted mother of two, is relieve to hear her name appears only three times, citing her philanthropy. However, a delayed pag of insecurity prods Caroline to Google her maiden name-- which none of the others know. The hits cascade like a tsunami. Caroline's terrified by what she reads. An obituary for her sister, JD? That's absurd. With every click, the revelations grow more alarming. They can't be right. She'd know. Caroline is hurled into a state of paranoia -- upending her blissful family life -- desperate to prove these allegations false before someone discovers they're true.

This was an absolute train wreck. I‘m baffled with how an editor gave this the thumbs up.

I‘m always looking for new audiobooks to listen to at work and finally started going through some of my tagged books on goodreads. The premise of this one sounds great!

So this one got me hooked in the beginning (couldnt put it down) but lost me right at the end. I did NOT expect that ending but left me with alot of questions. All I can say is "WFT?" at the end.

Twists ans turns! Just when you think you have it all figured out, you fine out something new and crazy. I very much enjoyed this read but had a hard time understanding the character's extreme reactions to certain things so i couldn't always relate.

Featuring a sleepy (and fierce) #banekitty.

By far one of the worst books I have read/listened to. I‘m not even 100% sure what made me keep going when all I wanted was to be done with it. I read the reviews which seemed mixed but I just kept hoping it would get better. All I could think (during the whole book) was that Caroline was completely nuts, and I was right. She was completely coo coo for Cocoa Puffs. #epicfail #audiobook #shecray

I couldn‘t get past the first chapter in this book. Has anyone read this book? Do I keep reading or bail?

Kaila-ann I don‘t know what you decided but I hope you bailed. I didn‘t it was pretty awful. 6y
Wonderwoman89 @Kaila-ann I gave up on chapter 4. For some reason I just couldn‘t get into it. I am reading Thirteen Tales right now. Maybe I will go back to it later. 6y

This book was a definite hate-read for me. I was interested enough to keep going to see how it all turned out but I wouldn't say I enjoyed reading this. I had some major issues with character development, plot progression, etc. that took away from the story. For example, I understand what the author wanted to achieve by having an unreliable narrator, but it actually caused the book to be completely illogical. ⭐️

Kaila-ann I felt the same way, I only kept going to see what happened. Least favorite book of this year (so far 🤞🏻). 6y
EKonrad @Kaila-ann Agreed! I hate wasting time on books I don‘t like, but I just can‘t not finish them for some reason! 😬 6y
Kaila-ann @EKonrad I have a hard time quitting books too, especially if I‘ve made decent progress into them. Plus I just kept hoping it would get better lol. 6y

I am exhausted after reading this crazy, chaotic and very clever book. The main character‘s gradual disintegration is draining and yet addictive at the same time. I spent much of my reading time whirling through the pages at an uncontrolled pace, desperately trying to keep up while a part of me was screaming at Caroline to just talk to someone! It‘s a crazy ride through the scrambled mind of a genuinely likeable character. Brilliant!

This was a cluster of twists and turns and a crazy ending I did not see coming. Even though I was lost through a majority of the book I found myself thinking about it all day while at work excited to get home to read more. I actually won a beautiful signed copy from Goodreads and the wonderful author wrote me a letter which was the sweetest thing ever!

This one is excellent so far. I've found it a tiny bit predictable, but I'm hoping there will soon be a plot twist I didn't see coming!

Just finished this audiobook and whoa! You think you are at the end that you heard the twist but nooooo you are not at the end and you haven't heard anything yet!

BibliophileMomma This was my first audiobook I listened to last year when I tried audiobooks. It hooked me line and sinker into audiobooks. So good. 7y
JoeStalksBeck @Tiffy_Reads I really like the narrator. She's done a lot of books. I started this book months ago and didn't like it . Thought I'd try again and turns out it's amazing! 7y

I absolutely DESPISE when a character is about to be told some truth that would clarify the 'big mystery' - but instead walks away or refuses to listen or is having an inner monologue causing him/her (ME!) to miss the information. WHO WOULD DO THAT?!? No one...no one would do that! This frequent annoyance, along with how often the main character wets herself made this novel a struggle to finish.

This book was so good. It had lots of twists and turns and I really enjoyed the way the author put it together and ended it. It had me guessing and it was a unique idea. I think fans of Before I Go to Sleep and Gone Girl would really enjoy this. I definitely would recommend it for a good gripping story to read!

Without giving up the plot, here‘s a list of words I would use to describe this one; (I actually took all these from the notes I made at midnight when I was frantically flying through The Memory Box) disturbing, unsettling, on the edge of my seat gripping, parts are uncomfortably bizarre, clever, sharp, twisted, edgy, completely unpredictable, addictive, obsessive, and I loved every minute of it though!
