Love her books and this is a fascinating look at a closely-knit neighborhood of people guarding secrets, keeping family members safe, and healing from past mistakes that threaten to tear away at the fabric of their “perfect” lives!

This reminded me a little bit of a mix of Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives. It really showed that in domestic life - wives and mothers have secrets and anxieties and things that they have hide or worry about it. There was a bit of a mystery to this and I liked how it came together, but there were a lot of characters to keep up with in this one which made it hard to fully connect with any of them which is why my rating wasn‘t as high.
I‘m mailing letters today to my wonderful “upstairs” and “downstairs” neighbors on our pen pal list for the April #LitsyLove2020 Challenge. You know who you are! 😁💌 📫
Take good care, everybody! ❤️

Loved this book! A more suburban Big Little Lies feel
It was ok but it just didn‘t seem great. I had no trouble flying through it and reading big chunks at a time, but I didn‘t feel like it pulled me in at all.
The perfect weather out right now to read about the perfect neighbors on this perfect day
I thought this book was horrible and just a waste of time. It was like watching an episode of Desperate Housewives. 😑
The title, "The Perfect Neighbors," is a word play, hinting that the residents of Newport Cove (one of the 20 safest neighborhoods) are not as perfect as they pressure themselves to be. The novel follows 4 female residents, & delves into their relationships with their families & each other. An entertaining enough read, but I always felt one step removed, as if I was on the outside looking in - there's a wall between the characters & the reader.
#currentlyreading The Perfect Neighbors. It's kinda campy, kinda strange. Don't quite know where this one is going. #bookandbooksandbooks #allthebooks #recentreads #myweekendisbooked #readthenightaway
Started this today. It's very "Truly,Madly,Guilty" . It's very interesting. There is a neighborhood email where they correspond with neighborhood concerns. It's hysterical. RE:Dog Poop. I'm enjoying this book!
Reading on the balcony on our mother-son mini-getaway in New Hampshire before we hit the (indoor - I'm not that crazy!) pool and arcade. 👍
It's nice enough to read outside! Parking lot view but who cares when the sun is out?! ☀️
This has been my week. Worked in Orlando all week and haven't had time to read :(
Last day in Orlando for meetings. Had almost no time to read this trip but got a bit of reading in this morning on my balcony 😊 #orlandoairport
A real crappy day as my community has been dealing with deaths from an early morning tornado. Most of the day has been without tv, power, calling insurance company etc. finally settling down to read and escape the afternoon. #PrayforGeorgia
Current situation! Tornado warnings in South Georgia and over 30 people killed this morning. 3 of my 6 kids (and the dog) in the closet with a friend sleeping over. Our other three kids are spending the night with other people. On a funny note, first thing I grabbed was my Kindle because it was beside me in the bed 😂😂
Just got home from work - it's time to wind down.
Me: "Let's go to Target."
Husband: "For what?"
Me: "I need a tiny notebook so I can keep up with my book challenges."
Husband: "Fine, but I am NOT making a stop at the library - I'm telling you now."
Me: "That's fine because I'll browse the book aisle."
While at Target saw a @MrBook recommendation and read the cover. And bought it ?
#TBRtemptation post! Interesting cover, isn't it? The book's about Newport Cove, a beautiful suburban town listed as one of America's safest. But everyone's got secrets, and what happens when they get exposed because your husband is running for Congress or you're a mom who is returning to work after maternity leave & consequently have to deal with the new balancing act, or you're new to town & don't invite anyone over. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
How well do you know your neighbors?
Some people are dealing with infidelity, divorce, long held secrets, and secrets that could ruin families.
The book unfurls slowly, giving you little nuggets of information as the chapters switch between the 4 woman. Chapter after chapter the suspense builds in all their lives and lead to a satisfying end.
4⭐️'s
This sums up married life! Men are blind to clutter!
This book told the stories of 4 women who are neighbours. These women & their secrets are the focus of the story, with the mystery aspect of the plot being more of a bonus. I really loved it right up until I got to the end. (Honestly, I'm still not sure how I feel about the ending). I would still highly recommend it. A fun exploration of the perils & benefits of living in a small-town subdivision that also touches on some pretty serious topics.
Sigh, I was disappointed. I finished but I still don't feel like I'm out of my rut. Now, back to staring at my piles and trying to decide what to read next:(
I was in rut and needed something light. Plus I have the worst cold. I just started this one and I've never read anything by her.
This book was okay. I was expecting a little more drama. All of the big secrets the ladies had were really not so big and resolved far too neatly. Overall, a quick and easy read, but not the exciting, suspenseful read I was expecting.
Quintessential Sarah Pekkanen, and by that I mean full of humor and emotion and difficult situations handled with compassion and honesty. This might be my favorite one yet! 5 🌟!
So glad to FINALLY have some time to devote to my reading. I'm really enjoying this one! Something strange is definitely afoot with one of our suburban moms!
Best. Book. Of. Summer. Everyone who enjoys women's fiction with complex characters, realistic dialogue and realistic situations must read this book!!
Got my copy in the mail today!!! Starting it RIGHT NOW. pick up all sarah's books! They are amazing!!! ❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊
This book is out today and I'm in the acknowledgments! Perfect if you like the hidden side of suburbia
Aahh!! One of my favorite authors, Sarah Pekkanen, is celebrating the book birthday of her 7th release today!! I'm so excited!!!! 🎉 I'm recommending it to everyone before I've even read it because her writing is that good. Do it. DO IT! 😁
Woo hoo! The day has arrived and Sarah Pekkanen's newest is in my hot little hands! Thank you @njgrrrl ...I cannot WAIT to start reading!!
⅘ The Perfect Neighbors was the perfect book to ease me back into reading after a short drought! It is an easy, interesting read. The characters are relatable and the author shows her eq with her clever, funny observations about life in a quaint American community.
I love books-in-the-mail days!
I can't wait for this book!!
If you enjoy books by Liane Moriarty and/or Jennifer Weiner, you will love Sarah Pekkanen's "The Perfect Neighbors". The story revolves around four women who live in the ideal suburban neighborhood. The dark secrets coupled with humor reminded me of "Desperate Housewives". It's her best book yet!
