🧛🏼‍♂️

GingerAntics 😂🤣😂 this is a fair points all the way around!!! 4y
Bookwomble @Milara I also thought about Vlad getting quite a few in before he died but... jokes 😄 I've read that Vlad Tepes is a national hero in Romania due to his opposition to invasions from the east, which obviously acted as a buffer for western Europe, though that history is little taught here. Is literary and film Dracula seen as an amusing caricature in Romania, or as an ignorant and insulting stereotype? (If you don't mind my asking 🙂) 4y
Bookwomble @GingerAntics Yeah, I've missed the 50 years landmark, so banking on my posthumous achievements to secure my legacy! 😂 4y

Bookwomble @Milara Hah! I would love that! 😁 4y
GingerAntics @Bookwomble you‘ve got centuries apparently. You‘ve got this! 🤣 4y
Bookwomble @GingerAntics I'll need those centuries for my tbr pile! 😄 4y
GingerAntics @Bookwomble I think we all might. The question is, can you still add to your TBR after you‘re dead? If so, we‘re all never finishing it. 4y

Pickpick

It's been a while since I read this edition, but memory says that Wolf's notes were interesting and informative.

Any reading of Dracula MUST be accompanied at some point by Bauhaus performing "Bela Lugosi's Dead" ?? https://youtu.be/OKRJfIPiJGY

TrishB Oh yes ❤️ great song! 7y
Bookwomble @TrishB P Pete Murphy's performance of the song at the beginning of the film "The Hunger" is fantastic, especially as it's cut with clips of David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve being all vampirey. 7y
TrishB That‘s my favourite version too!! We‘ve just put in on YouTube now!! 7y
Bookwomble I still regularly listen to my Bauhaus albums - great band ☺ 7y
