panI don‘t know what to say about this book. I was intrigued at first then at the middle and last part of the book it just kind of went downhill. I don‘t think I‘ll be reading the sequel anytime.
pickI picked this up 10 months and I didn‘t like the way it started so I put it down. I am glad I picked it back up. It kind of reminded me of StarCrossed tv show a couple of years ago. A sea creature race is spotted and tries to take over. The author does stand up comedy and you see hints of that throughout the book. It‘s definitely a YA read but I found it fun. I am going to check out the next one to see where it goes.

so-soI'm not sure how to rate this one: I think it definitely has appeal for younger readers, but I felt that there were a lot of political/immigration/racism themes that were over simplified. The main story is ok: although there were a few parts that had me wondering how they made sense.
pickThis book is original & exciting, with some thoughtful commentary on how we treat outsiders in our society today. It I don't know how to categorize it--kind of SF, if the aliens come from the sea? I especially enjoyed the inclusion of friendship as well as romance & the element of culture clash.
pickWow. This book took me to all sorts of levels of insanity. To be honest the beginning reminded me greatly of the tv show Star-Crossed. Excellent book. Bought the second one already and am about to start it.
