Stories of Edgar Allan Poe: Manga Classics
Stories of Edgar Allan Poe: Manga Classics | Poe
3 posts | 9 read | 4 to read
The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe is a brilliant collection of some of his best-known stories: The Tell Tale Heart (a murder's haunting guilt), The Cask of Amontillado (a story of brilliant revenge), and The Fall of the House of Usher (an ancient house full of very dark secretes). Also included in this collection are The Mask of the Red Death (horrors of 'the Plague'), and the most famous of all his poems: The Raven (a lover's decline into madness). Best read in a dimly-lit room with the curtains drawn, Poe's brilliant works come to life in darkly thrilling ways in this Manga Classic adaptation.

THIS was a very good manga! It was more than delightful to see some of my all-time favorite pieces of Edgar Allan Poe's brought to life in the beautiful artwork that is contained in this book. I also love that the manga follows the traditional Japanese style where you read from back to front. This is a very well done manga and I will be looking for more classics from this series. Do recommend!

Mehso-so

Some of Poe's greatest stories in Manga Form. I was super excited to find this on #Netgalley bc the cover art is awesome. And who doesn't want to see Poe's stories illustrated? It was interesting to see them come to life, so to speak. My biggest complaint, and the reason for my rating of so-so is bc Poe's writing invokes such vivid imagery on its own as is, and I feel like the illustrator could have used color in each of the pages. ⬇

vkois88 Sadly though, the book is entirely in black and white. Thus my 3.5🌟 rating. Still worth checking out if you're interested. 6y
