IamIamIam Oh wow, I just looked up more photos of Stirling Castle and it's incredible!!! 😍 A slightly better day today. My son opened up to me about how he's still scared for everyone and misses his friends so we set up a Google Meet with our neighbors and another one with a good friend tomorrow. It's complicated for us but even more so for the kids. 🤞 Better days ahead! Numbers are going down in NY! Love to everyone today! 💓 5y

kezzlou85 Back to home learning which seemed quite daunting but went okay. Though my ten year old reading a chapter about dogs being put down during the war was a tough subject. Hope everyone else is well. 5y

IamIamIam @Andrew65 He's been really a hot mess, getting angry and lashing out, totally checking out and playing video games most of the day. I cut them off at 5pm and he plays Animal Crossing, lol, but I talked to him the other day about anxiety and what that's like. Today he opened up a lot more and thanked me for listening. I told him I'm not the enemy and if he starts a conversation being defensive, I'm going to be angry too. Learning curves all over! 5y

Andrew65 @IamIamIam So very tough for all around and a steep learning curve for all of us. No previous experience to be able to pull from. We are all writing the book! 5y

TrishB Another 14 hours of fun working at home today. 7am-9pm. Just about to eat. Highlight - my daughter came to me with a list of best YA to read on lockdown and asked if I had any. I had them all and she‘s reading away now! 5y

tracey38 Ok here. Worked my first day from home scheduling patients and such. It was such a dreary and rainy day, I just wanted to lay around and read! Now that work is done, the rain is gone. Oh well, still gonna go read. 😉 5y

CocoReads The weather was nice today although I spent much of it inside at work. I have tomorrow off but it‘s supposed to be yucky. But we need groceries and my hub is working tomorrow so I shall gear up and get them myself! They‘re opening our main entrance back up on Wednesday and thinking about starting surgery back up next week. I‘m not sure how I feel about that. 5y

CocoReads Our numbers on our half of the state are still pretty low but I do think it‘s too early to start elective surgeries back up. I‘m pretty sure we‘re still limiting visitors though so opening up is still a slow process. I am relieved to not need the extra walking to get to the river entrance though. 5y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Feeling a bit sluggish today. I didn't put 100% into work today but we all have those days, I suppose, especially now. I've been keeping myself on schedule with my yoga program & I don't want to disappoint myself, so I'll push through to do it today. I can muster the energy for 30 minutes. Hoping it gives me a boost for the evening. 5y

I've been working through all the magazines today (see my post from today about them), then I was trying to complete a module on Duolingo for Spanish practice, but the damn tablet is being a stinking pile of poo so now I've turned it off in a huff! 😂 5y

TheBookHippie @IamIamIam my 13 year old son was having anxiety too I think it‘s such a loss for kiddos to not see their friends more so than us. Hugs to you guys we are all learning to manage these days... 5y

Velvetfur @TrishB I hope that's just a one-off, doing all those hours, I mean just because you're at home doesn't mean work can take even more from you, like your family time for example 😠 That's lovely to hear that you had all the books your daughter wanted though! IamIamIam @TheBookHippie It's really hard on them. I highly suggest digital meetings with their friends if possible because my son is a totally different person today than he has been! He spent 3 hours on his Chromebook drawing with our neighbors. I hope you guys can find a way to relieve some of his anxiety! Lots of love to you!!! 5y

And @TheBookHippie it must be so disorientating for the young ones, especially at the ages when they're just starting to work out who they are and their place in the world....and now they've got this to contend with 🙁 5y

CocoReads @TheBookHippie yes, Berrien County is going up too, although not rapidly but there doesn‘t seem to be a good way of predicting if it‘s going to jump or remain steady or hopefully, go down. 5y

TheBookHippie @IamIamIam he has zoom class daily where he sees his teacher and classmates, but on Fridays they play a game over zoom and Saturdays do music.. it all helps I think we just need better weather day 39 inside not so much fun. We‘ve also been playing board games which helps! I agree they need their time with others so much at this age. @Velvetfur 5y

eanderson It wasn‘t great. My son had a pediatrician appointment for his 6th month well baby check and we got kicked out because he has an occasional cough. My doctor thinks it‘s allergies or teething but they wouldn‘t do the check up because they couldn‘t risk him having Covid19. I‘m over this! 5y

DieAReader Just getting to this now. Was a long day yesterday (when this was posted). Did groceries for us & also picked up a few things for my grandma. Did a curb side pickup at Canadian Tire for Kev & then between showering, sanitizing doing a couple loads of laundry & making supper I basically ate & went to bed. Mentally/emotionally exhausted & hurting after walking on concrete floors & sitting/driving all day. 😖🥱🎶 5y

CocoReads @SquidgetsRoom yes #covidiots is the best description ever! I just got back from the first grocery trip I‘ve done in a month. Sanitizer and put the perishables away-the rest will have to wait til my hub gets home (he‘s working today)-it‘s exhausting. 5y

Andrew65 @SquidgetsRoom @TheBookHippie @Cocoreads I can‘t believe all these protests and opening up when it is still so rife! Only lead to a second peak that could be worse than the first! Think helped in U.K. that the Prime Minister came close to death with it, giving him a different and far more cautious aspect to it. Yes people are worried about the economy but if have to have a second shutdown will be even worse. (edited) 5y

DieAReader @Andrew65 The Native Reserves in my are got the 🟢 to re-open the smoke shops, gas bars & likely the Cannabis store as of tomorrow morning. Many (native & non-native) will flock for gas & tobacco etc..and many (myself inc.) fear this will lead to cases in our district. Both neighbouring districts have a few confirmed cases. Although there are fines for being out for non-essentials people are still refuse to comply. 😡🙁 5y

DieAReader No protests that I‘ve heard of here. People are just simply outright defying the provincial & municipal laws. Too many people out & about considering schools are closed, many people have been laid off or work from home. Where I live is rural community. It should be more of a ghost town than it is. Not enough taking things seriously 🤬 Selfishness! 5y

Andrew65 @SquidgetsRoom Total selfishness, saw one woman saying she‘s healthy enough and will survive if catches it. Sure there are plenty of people that have died who felt the same thing. 😢 5y
