She provides reading lists & activities for each age group and three questions for you to ask while picking out books for your kids. Such a great resource and one I will return to in the future.

As a bookworm and a mother this book has found a special place in my heart. While I am coming from a more secular mindset than that of Sarah, I still see this book as indispensable in any parents arsenal of educational tools.

As a book lover I can't help but appreciate this book and the message. I thought the last chapters of great read aloud books, divided by age, was helpful. I also thought the ten questions to ask your kids about what they read helpful too. I plan on implementing read aloud time in our house. I really fell away from this as my kids got older. However, I realize that this can be a small way for us to connect and relate with each other.

I listened to this on audio. Sarah has a charming voice and her podcast is fantastic, so the majority of the book is fantastic on audio. You probably want a paper copy for the book lists at the back though. I can‘t recommend the read aloud revival highly enough for finding quality books for your kids that they‘ll actually enjoy. And she makes such a compelling argument for reading aloud as a family here, it‘s hugely inspiring. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

#currentlyreading this parenting books about reading aloud to your kids, but (perhaps because I‘m not familiar with the author‘s podcast) I had no idea it would be such a Christian-themed approach. There are still a lot of really good ideas about how to read with and talk to your kids about books, but I wish the book‘s description or cover made her religious approach clearer. Anyone have any suggestions for more secular approaches in this topic?

Just picked this up at my church bookstore. I already read aloud to my daughter nightly and, if I know I won‘t be there at bedtime, I read to her earlier in the day. My husband reads to her at bedtime when I‘m not there.

I know this book will only make us better at something we already do. 🙂

I didn‘t track my time for #24in48, but I really enjoyed everything I read! I finished the 2nd half of Edge of Extinction: Ark Plan and got 40 pages into the sequel, Code Name Flood. I also listened to the 2nd half of The Read-Aloud Family —a re-read in anticipation of an upcoming online book club event.

I had fun with a lot of the challenges, but I gotta say, it partially contributed to me being on my phone WAY too much — a readathon conundrum!

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I could not put this book down. If you have kids of any age, there is something in this book for you. I have been reading aloud to my daughter almost every night since she was born, but I found so many insights and concepts that will help me improve the experience for both of us. And this book is worth its price for the reading aloud lists alone. I have also enjoyed the author‘s podcast #readaloudrevival.
