Strange attempt at literary fiction with surreal artwork. Good, but not totally for me.

#graphicnovelsnews is here. Today‘s #graphicnovel is collaboration of a very famous graphic writer Snyder and painted in full color by Lemire. It‘s a unique combination of comics, prose, and illustration. Years after the discovery, one man starts to question everything, leading him on a mind-bending journey that will bring him face-to-face with his past and his own mortality.

It's nearly 2am here in the UK and I'm signing off. I've managed just over 10hrs reading time this #readathon which is my best yet. Two books completed and two half read. Hopefully re-join for a couple of hours when I wake up.

The artwork in this book is absolutely stunning

Starting to feel pretty sleepy now (nearly 11pm in the UK) so going to curl up in bed with my first graphic novel of the day #readathon

I really enjoyed this! It really makes you think about who you are and who you could become. It's told through typical graphic novel pages as well as pages with paragraphs of story like in the photo. This is a definite pick for me!

The Happy Accidents award goes to the book/author I wasn‘t expecting to fall for. This year, it‘s Jeff Lemire. I really got into comics and graphic novels this year. I met Lemire through A.D. After Death. And I‘m signed on for Royal City. And the best part is there is SO MUCH he‘s done I can sift through. There is something very late-Gen X about his stuff that speaks to me without manipulating me via nostalgia. I just dig him.

After #nobookbookckub, we stopped in at King's Books & Destiny City Comics. After doing my civic duty & helping sell some books 😉, I treated myself to this. Looks good, & is short - only 3 books. It's a good way for me to explore more of the graphic novel universe.

Man, this is like chocolate and peanut butter: Snyder & Lemire? Of course I snatched this off the rack. Hardly slowed down enough to pay for it, even.
