This is a very weird collection of stories. Some of them aren't weird or fantastical at all - they're really about anxiety, like this one about traveling alone to visit relatives. Others could easily be an RL Stine book in themselves. This is another book that seems to have largely disappeared from memory of the author's works, maybe because it's so uneven?

I got NOtHING done for August #bookspin. I‘ve been reading a lot but I can‘t talk about it yet as I‘m a judge for Soon to be Famous Illinois Author. I have had to prioritize getting them read. And this weekend I‘m reading LMPBC. My Sept book spin is in this mess. This is also for @Eggs who wanted to see shelfies earlier this week. Hopefully I can get this set for September and sort out what has to go to work. It‘s just been really really busy.

LibrarianRyan And for those wondering I put all new books for the month on my living room hope chest and take them to the library upstairs at the end of the month or when ever I go up. Some stuff here is to fill for Little libraries, some for work, some for Halloween, and some because my nephews were here for 2 weeks. 4y

LibrarianRyan @aperfectmjk 😜 just blankets we don‘t use often. My quilts, grandmothers quilts etc. I normally open it in October and figure out what I want to use for the winter and grab my comforter. 4y

I donate all my books after I read them, so my bookshelves ARE my TBR stack. They used to be so organized! Alphabetical by author. It was wonderful. I had two tall bookcases, one on each side of my television. The I got an HD t.v. Because it was longer than my old one, I had to get rid of one of my bookcases! This led to all new books going on one bookcase, in absolutely no order. It is chaos. I may never recover.

Well, the kitchen sink backed up and we discovered water all over our countertops. In addition to cleaning up, we‘re shopping for a new can opener and air popper. I‘m also really hoping my Vitamix isn‘t ruined. It looked dry, but I‘m worried about the cord and after the last episode of This Is Us, I‘m super paranoid about small appliances!

One dish rack of stuff is washed and we have some more stuff waiting. Happy Saturday? 🤷🏻‍♀️

julesG Unplug and set on a bed of dry rice for at least 24 hours. The rice draws out the moisture if any water got into the device. 7y

My living room is a complete disaster! Like a tornado 🌪 came through! 😳 But my girls are only this age once & for now I‘ll embrace the mess bc time passes by so fast & I want to cherish these moments.

This was the first Christmas w/o my Papa & Granny so it was a bittersweet day. But my mom gave us some ‘Granny‘ gifts she always gave us stuff we really needed (dishwasher soap, laundry soap, groceries ect) funny those were always my favorite. ⬇️

SassyBookworm Most ppl always thought those gift were odd but for me it was special. She would give us those things so we spend our small funds on things to do together. & she never had much money so it always meant a lot. So I‘m enjoying these last moments of Christmas with my messy living room & a good book 😏 7y

GlassAsDiamonds 😊😊😊 I remember being relieved the year my Grandmother stopped giving us socks and undies.... all the cousins were then SO annoyed throughout the year because we, clearly, used them all incessantly. We asked her to go back to socks and PJs that year!! 😊 What a lovely way for your Mum to honour her memory. ❤️ 7y

SassyBookworm @GlassAsDiamonds yes it sure was, she surprised us by having a ‘family‘ gift to open which directed us to the basement. There she had hidden a large container of individual packaged chips, dishwasher soap, laundry soap, sunflower seeds (my favorite), a large container of Parmesan cheese (we love it!), pasta, shampoo/conditioner & a large bag of frozen chicken tenders. I said you got us ‘Granny gifts‘ & almost cried ☺️ (happy tears) 7y
