I really wanted to like this one but the heroine gets to the point she‘s almost unlikeable which is sad. There were some laugh out loud moments but overall a bland read.

It was ok but I didn‘t really enjoy the second half of the book too much.
Ryn hasn‘t been able to move on since her best friend‘s death on New Year‘s Day. She has one unread text message on her phone that she can‘t read—it is the last thing she has of her friend. Trapped in an airport on New Year‘s Eve, 1 year after the accident, Ryn meets Xander. The two of them collect a quirky cast of characters and have an evening of adventures. Is it enough to help Ryn move on?
He will only stop nibbling on the couch if I hold the chew toy for him. This is making it very difficult to read. Lucky for him he‘s cute.
I remember buying this at the Tattered Cover at Denver International Airport because it was about being stranded at DIA. I love that the TC in terminal B where I bought the book is in the book!
Going to try to get in some reading with my coffee this morning. This is my favorite coffee mug, and I realized this morning it‘s about 25 years old! 😳
YA is hit or miss for me & I didn't think this storyline was special. However, it's set entirely at Denver International Airport & the author got so many details right that it made my Colorado 💜 sing. It takes place over approx 18 hours while the airport is shut down for a blizzard & our MC, with a few people she repeatedly interacts with, range all over the airport. It was cool to read about the art, architecture, & conspiracy theories while ⬇️
Loved it. I didn‘t want it to end. It was one of those books that I thought of after reading it, and wondered where it could have went. Very strong message about losing someone you love and care for though.
I received my Book Outlet order today! What a great thing to happen on a Monday. I adore new books! It‘s the best feeling.
Just a few blue spines on #MountTBR. The tagged book has 100% rating on Litsy. Maybe I should move it up My Neverending List!
Happy snow day, everyone! It was a slow day at the library and I thought I was going to return this book unread, but the sudden change in weather has me back in the mood for it... No wonder my library pile at home is so big!
My #whodoyoulove ! This kid has stuck by my side, be it lazy days spent reading (or playing video games in his case) or dragging him to every 5k or 10k I can😊🙌🏼💕 Fun fact, we were in the same high schools and grade together, and were in several advanced classes together, including British Literature📚
Im looking for recommendations for YA contemporaries.
Im currently reading The Chaos Of Standing Still and im enjoying it. Thid is out of my comfort zone.
I typically read paranormal/fantasy so I need contemporary that will keep my interest.
HELP!
Chaos is a beautifully insightful story of one girl learning how to grieve a heavy, life-altering loss. Ryn‘s transformative journey is eye-opening, painful, & true - Brody does an excellent job of writing about the tragedy of grief, while showing the growth of a person. While on one hand, Chaos is an exploration of grief & the things we do to cope with loss, on the other, it is a wonderful adventure into the inner workings of the Denver airport.
Finished in almost one sitting! And those are totally not tears streaming down my face right now 😭 #allthebooksof2018 #jan18inbooks #januaryreads #yalit
When you go to the library to pick up your holds and end up raiding the new YA shelf... 🙄📚🎆
Perfect lunchtime read for a snowy and cold MN day! #glovesmakeaperfectbookblanket #photographertricks
A book that takes place in the Denver International Airport that was bought at the independent bookstore inside the Denver International Airport? I‘m not sure I can get any more meta this morning 🤓
Book 1 of the new year. This was a fun book to start 2018 with since it takes place on New Years Eve/Day. Ryn gets stuck in the Denver airport on NYE due to a huge snowstorm and meets a whole cast of characters. She's still grieving her best friend who passed away in a car accident and Ryn just wants to get home before the one year anniversary of the accident on New Year's Day. It had funny, light hearted moments and some heartbreaking ones.
December 22: #booksandlights I am really, really excited to read “The Chaos of Standing Still” in the upcoming week! It‘s a NYE book & it takes place in the Denver airport - I‘ll be there in two months ... eeek! #allthebooksdec #decinbooks17 #yalit #nye #nyelit #seasonsreadings #seasonsreadings17 #newyears
My book is somewhere under this pile of cats! 😹😹😹😹
I picked up this one the other day (darn you employee appreciation). I think it will be a nice one to end the year on since it‘s set on New Years Eve.

This book was heartbreaking and hilarious and hopeful with characters who were easy to root for and an ending that made me hug the book when I was done.
