If you love The Third Twin and One of Us Is Lying and binge-watched Thirteen Reasons Why, get ready for a heart-wrenching psychological thriller about a girl who knows her twin sister better than anyone . . . or does she? Taut and atmospheric, The Window will keep you guessing until the end. Secrets have a way of getting out. . . . Anna is everything her identical twin is not. Outgoing and athletic, she is the opposite of quiet introvert Jess. The same on the outside, yet so completely different inside--it's hard to believe the girls are sisters, let alone twins. But they are. And they tell each other everything. Or so Jess thought. After Anna falls to her death while sneaking out her bedroom window, Jess's life begins to unravel. Everyone says it was an accident, but to Jess, that doesn't add up. Where was Anna going? Who was she meeting? And how long had Anna been lying to her? Jess is compelled to learn everything she can about the sister she thought she knew. At first it's a way to stay busy and find closure . . . but Jess soon discovers that her twin kept a lot of secrets. And as she digs deeper, she learns that the answers she's looking for may be truths that no one wants her to uncover. Because Anna wasn't the only one with secrets. "A gripping tale of suspense, secrets, and the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood."--Karen McManus, New York Times bestselling author of One of Us Is Lying "Layered and compelling, THE WINDOW is a fast-paced mystery anchored by a bold and intriguing protagonist, and you won't want to put it down until you've uncovered every last one of its secrets!"--Caleb Roehrig, author of Last Seen Leaving "Lyrical and haunting, with plenty of twists that kept me reading long into the night."--Kara Thomas, author of The Darkest Corners

Slow moving but well-written YA mystery about a girl whose twin sister falls to her death while climbing from her bedroom window. #covid19readathon

This one was sad and depressing (I knew it would be) but I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the evolution of the main character over the course of the book (there's hope for me yet!) and admire the author for not wrapping up the last little bit the way you'd expect her to.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat because of how much thought was put into the story line.

"Maybe that was the thing no one really knew how to prepare for, that your life might ultimately depend on how quickly you could switch from seeing the shooter as the person who sat two seats away from you in history-the person who offered you a stick of gum-seeing them as the person who might kill you. " - wow ? was not expecting that from this book about a mysterious relationship between teen twins. Too true though ☹️

I definitely wasn‘t expecting the ending I got with this one! The Window was really good and it provided a lot of closure figuring out what exactly happened to Jess‘s twin sister Anna. It kept you guessing the whole way through to the end.

Strong debut from Brunskill. Jess and Anna are twins and nothing alike but even so, they‘ve always been close. And then Anna dies in a fall from her window. While everyone seems to think it‘s an accident, Jess isn‘t so sure and she sets out to find the truth. As she hunts for the truth & secrets are revealed, Jess soon learns that she didn‘t know her sister as well as she thought she did. Suspenseful YA thriller that makes for a fun read.

Last but not least, this is one of the books the booksellers talked about the most at the festival. After her twin falls to her death while climbing out her bedroom window, Jess isn‘t sure what to think. Everyone seems to think it was an accident but Jess isn‘t convinced and decides to investigate.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Meet @rachellayown — she‘s friends with the author of this book. You‘ve both been posting about it tonight! #litsysmallworld #litsymatchmaker 7y

Book 39 of 2018 The Window is a suspenseful story about Jess investigating the death of her twin sister after she supposedly dies after falling from her bedroom window. Jess isn't so sure if that's the truth and starts uncovering her sister's secrets as she looks for clues about what really happened. This is a strong YA mystery written in short chapters that make it compulsively readable.
