After the dust settles a dead officer appears to have been murdered. The first appearance of Dirty Dick Burgess after London CID is called in, making tensions escalate. My third Robinson and it was excellent. I love the way the author spends time on the lives of all the characters, not just our hero and his quest to solve the case. The Yorkshire setting is part of the plot as well, and the fact that the early books are set in the 80s is a fun window in time. Cassette players in cars! Not even standard!

TheAromaofBooks We've had a lot of bird feeder activity the last couple of weeks with snow + bitter cold. We have one cardinal that we can't believe he can even fly because he's so pudgy!! 😂 4y

Tove_Reads @andrew65 Got it! I enjoy reading 3+ series like Hamish or Agatha, but tbh I never remember the plots and they don‘t stay with me. That‘s the difference. Lamentation will stay with me forever. 6y

Tove_Reads @andrew65 True, but some you never forget. Cozy mysteries are somehow warming and, well cozy. I love them for that. Frieda, well cant forget about those. With hisfic it‘s easier to remember especially if it‘s an era you know about. 6y
