What a sweet book! I really loved this one & bought it for several of my friends who have kids. The illustrations were beautiful & really made this story.
(Also read The Grinch, too!)

One tree in the field was never taken home to be a christmas tree and this leaves him sad. Now he knows that he will never go home with anyone because he is too old, too tall, and too big. His woodland friends help remind him that he is special all year around, and that without him, many of them would not be around. This story is sweet, but a little sad.

A tree in the forest hopes that this year he will be picked to become someone's Christmas tree. His woodland friends cheer him up.
Sweet story of friendship.

A gorgeously illustrated book, an old tree is personified perfectly by the artist, conveying the tree‘s emotions about Christmas. The story is told in lovely verse, and it‘s a wonderful celebration of the glory of trees and the good ways they serve living beings.
