Inglourious Basterds
Inglourious Basterds: A Screenplay | Quentin Tarantino
7 posts | 1 read | 2 to read
With such iconic films as the Oscar-winning Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill: Volumes 1 & 2, and Reservoir Dogs, Quentin Tarantino has become the most famous and revered writer/director of his generation. Now he's back with his most ambitious movie yet: the World War II epic Inglourious Basterds. Starring Brad Pitt and filmed on location in Germany and France, it has the largest cast of characters of any Tarantino film to date. The movie will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2009. The action tale follows the parallel story of a guerilla-like squad of American soldiers called "The Basterds" and the French Jewish teenage girl Shosanna who find themselves behind enemy Nazi lines during the German occupation. When the Inglourious Basterds encounter Shosanna at a propaganda screening at the movie house she runs, they conspire to launch an unexpected plot to end the war. Pitt plays Lieutenant Aldo Raine--the leader of the Basterds. Raine is an illiterate hillbilly from the mountains of Tennessee who puts together a team of eight Jewish-American soldiers to hunt down the Nazis. Filled with Tarantino's trademark electric dialogue and thrilling action sequences, Inglourious Basterds is destined to become one of the most talked about films of 2009 and a landmark in cinematic history.

I watched this for the first time tonight and Tarantino did score with this one (though Django Unchained is my favorite of his movies). Even though it‘s set in France I watched it because it was a US/Germany collaboration. So I‘m finally doing something to honor our #foodandlit country, #Germany. And all the references to German food (even if in a condescending manner) sure made me ready for some!

suvata LOVED the movie 2y

Not tagged book, but close enough 😉

This is the third and last instalment of Season One of the Inglorious Bitches. Once again Benny B. Savage entertain us with a lot of action, witty dialogues and crazy ideas. There are explosives, there are shootings, and there are a lot of fights to fight.

I really, really hope there will be a Second Season. Yes, Savage delivers what I like and what I need. So please more of this!

The second volume is just as fast and bloody as the first one. Maybe even a bit faster and a bit bloodier. The girls are just as fun to be with as in the first one and what they experience is for sure even more crazy than before. I hope we're going to learn a bit more about the girls and their past, I would sure like that.

This is a hilarious homage to Quentin Tarantino and his films. If you like kick-ass girls, funny dialogues, a little bit of blood, and, of course, Quentin Tarantino, then I can only recommend reading this book. I love all three of the girls, they're an awesome team, and I was rooting for them from the start. The second book is already pre-ordered.

Book: (Don) Quixote (Best I can do.)
Author: Quentin Tarantino (Evidently you can buy his scripts in book form, and he says he plans to write when he reitres from film, so I'm saying he counts. Though anything he writes would probably be too graphic for my reading tastes. But damn it, Q is hard.)
Movie: Quick Change
TV show: Quantum Leap
Food: Quesadillas

JoScho That‘s is cool about Tarantino! 6y
bookcollecter I've read all if his scripts. Enjoyed more than the movies to be honest. In particular, True Romance was far better as a script in my opinion. 6y

The very first thing that the song #CatPeople brings to mind is the scene in Inglourious Basterds when it starts playing as Shosanna Dreyfus sets her plan in motion to put out the fire of the Third Reich with gasoline.

@Marchpane and @Cinfhen #SeptemBowie has been my favorite photo challenge ever. Thanks!

Marchpane OMG that scene! So incredible. Thank you for all your amazing posts this month too 👏👏👏 7y
