In the tradition of The Emperors Children and The House of Mirth, the forgotten granddaughter of one of New Yorks wealthiest men is reunited with her family just as she comes of ageand once shes had a glimpse of their glittering world, she refuses to let it go without a fight. When Laila Lawrence becomes an orphan at twenty-three, the sudden loss unexpectedly introduces her to three glamorous cousins from New York who show up unannounced at her mothers funeral. The three siblings are scions of the wealthy family from which Lailas father had been estranged long before his own untimely demise ten years before. Two years later, Laila has left behind her quiet life in Grosse Point, Michigan to move to New York City, landing her smack in the middle of her cousins decadent world. As the truth about why Lailas parents became estranged from the family patriarch becomes clear, Laila grows ever more resolved to claim whats rightfully hers. Caught between longing for the love of her family and her relentless pursuit of the lifestyle she feels she was unfairly denied, Laila finds herself reawakening a long dead family scandalnot to mention setting off several new onesas she becomes further enmeshed in the lives and love affairs of her cousins. But will Laila ever, truly, belong in their world? Sly and sexy, She Regrets Nothing is a sharply observed and utterly seductive tale about family, fortune, and fateand the dark side of wealth.

I started reading this one a while back, but got distracted and am just now picking it back up.

I'm also binge watching Gossip Girl (currently on season 5, and so in love with Chuck Bass/Ed Westwick).

So, I'm using my new gossip girls and guys for the characters in the book 🥂

I'll let you know how it goes, Upper East Siders!

XOXO 💋

So strange to read a book where you can't stand the main character!

Waiting in the dentist office while the middle child gets his braces on. Might as well start another book. #currentlyreading

Was it true...that we were all doomed to long for what we didn‘t have: that those with everything could wish as ardently for the simplicity of having less as the reverse? 💎💰🏙

I regret nothing, not even eating jellybeans with my tea 😂🐣🐰

🍷🍷🍷/5 Cheers!
An entertaining read filled with juicy family drama, secrets, lies & scandal. The book opens with Laila at her mother‘s funeral where she encounters three strangers. It is revealed that these guests are her wealthy first cousins Laila never knew existed. She desires to attain the elite social class that her last name demands among the upper echelon in NYC.

This was picked for me on a Bookriot Facebook quiz, “what book should you read next?”. Might just have to give it a try.

This novel follows the lives of a super-wealthy family living in NYC who learn they have a cousin they‘ve never met. Honestly, there wasn‘t a ton to like about this book. It‘s told from pretty much every character‘s perspective (including really minor ones), so it lacks focus, and most of the characters are very unlikable. There‘s really no plot development until the last 10 percent of the book, so it felt dragged out. Disappointing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #arc

Reading-In-The-Wings Bummer that it was disappointing. I‘ve been seeing this book around and now I don‘t feel the need to add it to my TBR :) 7y
EKonrad @Reading-In-The-Wings Of course it‘s always possible I just didn‘t get it! But if your TBR is anything like mine, you have plenty of other, better books to read. 😊 7y

Ohhh I‘m excited about this brand new novel that was just released at the beginning of February! It is a story about a young lady (mid-20s)whose mom passes away and then she meets an extremely wealthy part of her family she has never met before. Before long she moves to NYC and embarks on a journey to figure out why her parents were estranged from their wealthy family. Has anyone by chance already read this one? Wanna hear what you think!

SheReadsAndWrites I saw this the other day and was curious! Keep us posted on what you think. 😊 7y

Full of scandal and privilege, She Regrets Nothing pulls the veneer off of wealth to examine the darker underbelly. Full of intriguing examinations of power, money, gender, privilege, elitism and more, this book is far more than it appears. Very relevant and full of amazing topics to discuss and dissect. This is Gossip Girl in adult form and I loved every second of it. Drama, love triangles, backstabbing, lifestyles of the rich and famous. The Jenny Humphrey of this book annoyed me to no end, but as a whole 👌🏽

swishandflick You had me at Gossip Girl!! 😆 7y
