I laughed out loud enough that I‘m sure the drivers in the cars next to me must have thought I had an issue at stop lights. Loretta Chase does such a great job of creating strong, funny, women that are supposedly unlikeable, but that I‘d enjoy having in my circle of friends.
This book was almost painfully dull. It had a lot of promise but is so tedious and had a lot of repetitive text. I probably would have bailed but this was my #bookspin pick, so I was determined to finish. Another #audiojune pick finished as well. #romantsy #bookspinbingo
A beautiful day today so got in some morning #audiowalking
This book is ok, very slow paced the first half but it‘s getting a bit more interesting.
Here is my #bookspinbingo card! Tagged is my #bookspin pick, Dial A for Aunties is my #doublespin pick. My free spaces will be books I read not from my 20 book list. I finished 2 books yesterday so already filling those squares! Thanks for the fun @TheAromaofBooks
Pacing was slow with a lot of inner monologue. But the story picked up a lot in the last quarter.
I got into Loretta Chase after reading Sarah MacLean's 100 romance novels and Lord of Scoundrels was good. This one only ok. Great chemistry and I loved the librarian heroine but not enough naughty bits for this romance reader. Plus too many leftover questions about secondary characters (maybe they're being saved for others on series).
1833. Runaway bride road trip. This was not as humorous as I expected & I found the three Dis-Graces rather annoying. More bothersome was the treatment of almost all men in the story as idiotic buffoons. I‘ll still read the next book in the series because it will be interesting to see if she can make a man out of the ridiculously immature & volatile Ashmont. #osrbc #romantsy
Was excited but ended up disappointed 😕 A runaway bride story with Chase‘s stock sensible heroine and ne‘er-do-well aristocrat hero. Both had appalling ethics that weren‘t even justified by any chemistry. The structure—nonstop scenes of predictable disasters—was like a bad romcom. But since novels are not obliged to follow movie pressures, the choice betrays lack of character depth. First in a series. Hoping the others are better. #romantsy.
How am I supposed to read or get my papers finished while my husband and new kitten are looking this adorable?!😻#catsofLitsy #mrknightley
Snowy day = time for reading!
This was a fun story. It follows the Dis-Graces, aka three Dukes that like to cause trouble. One is about to get married but his bride jumps out the window and his friend follows her. Ripley‘s aim is to bring Lady Olympia back to Ashmont but things don‘t go as planned. First book in a new series that comes out later this month. Can‘t wait for the next one!
We got maybe 9 inches of snow overnight. So I‘m staying inside to finish my book. 🌨❄️
Just got back from having lunch with a friend. She grilled burgers and corn on the cob. The picture is of Peri begging for a piece of burger.
I finished my blue alien romance, so back to my ARCs. Excited to read Loretta Chase's newest. #romantsy #arc #historicalromance
