Full disclosure: I love Mary Balogh to an unhealthy degree :) She is my favorite historical romance author. She masterfully handles complex characters. This book is no exception. It is a wonderful, mature second-chance romance.

A really emotional but romantic read, especially if you or someone you love struggles with depression.
Loved the writing style. The characters felt real and sucked me into their back stories, which is my favorite place to be!
Eek! One week away! Maybe my favorite line from the book...
Sweet Christmas. I either just spontaneously started menopause, or this book is sexier than all get out. #hotflash
YA is a new genre for Kylie Scott and she does it well. Moving, romantic, and a bit funny at times.
Yesss...Love the reference, but also that this is true for so many @sarahmaclean heroines.
Rereading Dirty to get ready for the upcoming release of Twist. Love this Mal siting!
Took me some time to get into this one because Blake is like a man-child--no depth, no intellect. But that's why I ultimately liked it. Bowen and Kennedy make us buy into his brand of love--all heart, all good deeds. A fun read.
This book has taught me the depth of my impatience. I mean, there's slow burn and then there's slow burn! On to book 2!
I"m very late to this book, but this was such a lovely read. Honest, joyful, devastating character studies of life in the fifth grade. A book about struggling with courage and kindess and trying to be our better selves while surviving the world.
Reading this book was like running into an old friend on the street.
Sophie Jordan makes normal things sexy-- ice cream, backyards, neighbors...
Balogh is as good as it gets in historical romance-- not the sexiest or fastest-paced writer, but the one who writes things honest and true. This book was better than the first in the series, and the blurb for the third has me eager to read it!
Oh, the tatoo...the pooka...the thumb ring. *Fans face* Let me make one thing clear: I would ride away with Cam on that pooka any/every day. Hubs didn't seem all that concerned when I notified him about this, but drew the line at getting a thumb ring--as he should have.
Okay, so Cam is one of my favorote historical romance heros. I suspect I will be posting multiple scenes during this reread :)
Kleypas loves to have her men take tokens of their ladies--and it gets me every time.
Here's Mary Balogh making me cry (again) in the Notorious Rake. Blurg!
Reading this section aloud at public readings always makes me a little sad.
Yep, I'm hooked. Scare away!
