Robertson County, Tennessee, early 1800s. The respectable Bell family is quietly working its rural farm, when something utterly horrific suddenly unleashes a reign of terror upon them and their entire community. The haunting begins with knocking on the walls. Before long, disembodied voices are heard whispering in the night, and spectral creatures are seen floating in the field. Then, 13-year-old Betsy Bell is brutally assaulted, and her father, John Bell, is violently tortured by an unseen force. The desperate townspeople, frantic with fear, gather to cast the demon from their midst.
