I loved the audiobook!! I wish there was a hard cover edition.
I loved the audiobook!! I wish there was a hard cover edition.
1. Definitely Reese‘s. But I don‘t like the pumpkin shaped ones because the peanut butter to chocolate ratio is off. 😅
2. One of the hardest questions ever! I‘d have to say that one that was really horrific and full of gore AND takes place on Halloween is The Haunted Forest Tour by Jeff Strand. Absolutely loved it. Almost added it as a reread to this years Scarathlon TBR. Might still sneak it in. 😅
The first book in a while that I can say it had me hook to every single word. It was action packed, goary and I loved it. One thing annoyed me was Matt.😩😩him and his constant thoughts of other women besides his wife. I rolled my eyes everytime. I just thought it was unecessary for the story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is exactly what I hoped it would be - an utterly bonkers, B-movie of an audiobook. Tons of gruesome deaths and injuries, cheesy dialogue but some one-liners that had me 😆 😆, so many types of monsters!, and just enough of a plot and character development to be somewhat credible but not too much because that‘s not why we‘re hear, right? Right. Put this one on your list for October (or anytime you need ridiculous B-movie horror). #nywd
Well, I have Covid. Luckily it‘s pretty mild (yay vaccines), but I‘m still super tired after working from home today. Don‘t think I can focus on a physical book, but starting an audiobook I can handle - especially one that looks as bonkers (in the best way possible) as this #NewYearWhoDis pick!
Book 116🎧 (& Book 100 for 2021!📢)
Oo this was a GOREY wild ride!🩸🔥🧟😈💀👻👽
Ghosts, Demons, Dragons…Oh my!!🙀
Perfect listen for Spooky szn🖤👏🏻
5 ⭐️s!!
This was everything I could have wanted in a horror book! Non-stop gore, humor, a whole group of characters to root for, more monsters and freaks than ever, and a “can‘t turn the pages fast enough” pace! Not for everyone. I‘m not joking about the non-stop gore, but if that and an insane line-up of monsters is your thing, READ THIS!
15 points for #TeamHendrix #Scarathlon2021
1. HELLZ YEAH! GO #TEAMHENDRIX!!! 🤘😆🤘
2. This was hard to choose. I‘m honestly stoked to read EVERYTHING on my October TBR, but I finally settled on the tagged book. 😍
I‘m tagging all of my fellow #Scarathlon team members!!
Thanks for the tag @wanderinglynn ❤️🎃❤️

Pretty good spooky story. Very gruesome, and plenty gory (I am not squeamish under any circumstances, but it did make me cringe a few times), and it does suspense pretty well. Definitely a good pick for a fan of watching Jurassic Park after a long day (just to prove that, as bad as your day was, it‘s not as bad as theirs).
Audiobook courtesy of Hoopla. It‘s about time! Second book in a row that was actually a scary book! This is sort of a Jurassic Park but with demons & monsters. Not for the faint of heart!! Loved it. My Hoopla queue is down to these 6 .... I have no more available loans 😫 ... we used to get 20 a month! This was a good horror book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4
This book was the definition of overkill. Pretty much every page was just a different monster with multiple rows of teeth eating someone else. There are multiple places where a new character is introduced just to be eaten by a monster - in the SAME PARAGRAPH. There was barely a story here. It's basically just a bunch of death scenes strung together and they lose their effectiveness very quickly.
My internal monologue for what to read for book 2 of my #24in48.
"Look at all these books I have that I've been dying to read for ages. I will spend the next hour and 15 minutes painstakingly reading the info of every one so I can decide what I feel like."
"It's too hard to decide. Here let me go online and buy myself this random book I think I heard good things about several months ago"
So I had a very special concert to go to tonight and plans fell through. To avoid getting really upset about it, I‘ve decided to read the tagged book tonight. So here we go! I‘ve got snacks and Diet Coke to make it happen! Let‘s do this!
An absolute gem of a read…What comes next is over two hundred pages of non stop, in your face, gore drenched action…You will be exhausted by the time you reach the satisfying last page…Think Jurassic Park with bloodthirsty demons on an adrenaline rush and you have The Haunted Forest Tour.
