For being written in the 1930s, Mignon was well ahead of her time when it came to her writing style and detective thriller. Especially being a woman in 1930! Can you imagine?! And shes from my home state of Nebraska! It kind of gave me a Scooby-Doo feeling. Ghostly happens and twists, just to reveal the true killer at the end. Im now a fan and cant wait to read her other detective thriller novel. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Due to some health issues that happened out of nowhere six weeks ago, I haven't been able to read as much nor have I been able to participate in any July challenges.🤒🤕 😞
I'm still trying to be as active in the Litsy community as possible.
I signed up for a Litten penpal, but I was wondering if there were any other ways to become more involved?

abbsinwonderland @Centique six weeks ago i walked into the doctors office on my deathbed from an infection that went septic. Now im just dealing with the after math and taking care of issue to make sure it doesnt happen again. Slowly improving thank you!!😘💕 7y

Prairiegirl_reading Two years ago I hurt myself and ended up with frozen shoulder. Just holding a book open was too painful so I get it and I hope you get better soon. 7y

abbsinwonderland @Prairiegirl_reading I feel ya on that! When I was 15, I had 8 screws and 6 anchors put into my right shoulder to keep it from dislocating. It still bothers me, but not as bad. And thank you! 7y

abbsinwonderland @DeeLew Athena is 1 1/2 and her skills amaze me shes great at swimming and can even stay under for a good two minutes. Shes also AMAZING at climbing trees. Shes climbed up at least 15 feet high maybe more. Shes wonderful! And part squirrel. I highly suggest a baby pool for pups!!! 7y

Sydsavvy It was two hours of heaven, he was Brilliant! Even better, the Dallas crowd was so in to him. Ate him up, all types of people. I feel pretty sure that the moving chandelier at our opera house will show up in his new work somewhere. He was fascinated with it! 7y

I was hesitant to read this book for a few reasons.. now that I'm about 1/3 of the way the way through it, I'm glad I gave it a chance. Even though it was written in 1930, it has exceeded my expectations and I cant wait to finish it!

He was dark and swarthy, with thin iron-gray hair, small eyes of which you only caught the glitter under overhanging eyebrows, and heavy features that were not improved by a wide purple scar that ran slantwise across his face and made of his mouth a cruel and twisted line.

I'm not sure how I feel about this book, but it's written by an author from my home state, plus I picked it up from my local library so I'm gonna give it a try! The cover looks pretty wild tho. 😬
