I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!). Feel free to join in!

Fun book about Roald Dahl's further adventures as a young man. In Africa and as a RAF pilot in N. Africa and Greece during WW2.
I enjoyed Boy: Tales of Childhood so much that I immediately plunged into Going Solo, Roald Dahl‘s memoir of his life after leaving school. This is my weekend sorted! 😁

Definitely not as frivolous or quirky as Boy, but you can still see highlights of the same wit and shadows of ideas that might work into a story one day.
Not at all what I expected. #audiobook
5⭐ Such a great biography! Book 2 of these biographies. If you like history, war stories, or biographies then read it!

1. I splurged for lunch today.
2. I haven‘t bought any books this year. But the tagged book was a birthday gift I received this week. ☺️
3. 39! And I‘ll be adding 3 more to that total in a couple weeks.
4. Yes. Old books, first editions of certain authors, & the special editions of the Iron Druid series.
5. I hope to visit @Mitch in 🇬🇧 at some point this year.
Thank you so much @TheBookHippie for this lovely bookmark, which I‘m going to use in the tagged book!
🙏🏻😘💜
What a nice birthday surprise that was delivered today! I love Roald Dahl, but have not read this book (yet).
Thank you so very much @JoScho for thinking of me. 😘😘😘
It certainly has been a good birthday & I have felt loved today. 🥰
Got a slow start to the #25infive readathon yesterday, but I still finished this book! It was a quick one. Listened to the audiobook as I love anything that Dan Stevens narrates. #25andcapsule

Going Solo is the book my mother famously bought me twice. She remembered Roald Dahl was a childhood favorite of mine...both times she bought it. She discovered she had two copies for me when she went to wrap Christmas gifts that year & found it so hilarious that she gave me both. The kicker: I already owned a copy. That same year she also bought me a favorite book of poetry...that she‘d given me the year before.😂⤵️
I read this and 'Boy' as a young teen, and was puzzled that his usual fantastic characters were missing! I hadn't realise then, it was his memoir
😅😅
Need to reread for better understanding. #ReadingResolutions #planes
Roald Dahl is an excellent storyteller! I thouroughly enjoyed his second autobiography, even more than his first one, Boy. My audio version just added to the story, great voice (Norwegian edition).
How could I have forgotten how much I absolutely love Roald Dahl?? I don't know how I missed this follow-up to Boy, but I'm so glad to have read it. This book follows Dahl in his adventures after school, working in Africa for the Shell Company and serving as an RAF pilot in WWII. His witty account is of course funny, but interspersed with thrilling tales of military exploits and heartbreaking remembrances of the war.
Absolutely loved Roald Dahl's two autobiographies. He's such a great storyteller!
Bedtime story snuggles ❤️❤️❤️
MiniMe - "I LOVE Roald Dahl, he's just the BEST."
I concur, kid, I concur
First read of the year. Things have been slow now that I have a PS4 distracting me! But I was lending some Roald Dahl books to a friend and accidentally started reading one.....
Roald Dahl always gets five stars from me.
These #multiplecopies come courtesy of my mother. She often buys Christmas presents well in advance of the holiday, and the drawback is that she sometimes forgets what she's already bought. The banner year for this was the Christmas she bought me two copies of the above & and a copy of a favorite volume of poetry. The kicker was that I already owned both, and the poetry had been a gift from her the year before. 😂📚

Sólo voy por la página 66, pero en seguida se reconoce la maravillosa manera de Roald Dahl de hacer descripciones y el sentido del humor y perplejidad con los que veía el mundo.
