The opening chapter sets the frame of why each character investigating or involved knows grisly crimes are not entirely man-made. Acknowledgement from humans of their local elder god, active participation of ‘magic‘, cult as normal. The final act is ok. I would say transparency took a lot from the direction, and suspense was last minute. So-so, but a good read if there is time.

I picked this book up on an impulse and I am SO GLAD I did! Dubeau weaves an intricate tale of gods, cults, prophecy, and a circus? If you break it down, this book has a lot of horror tropes in it, but I didn‘t even think about that until I was finished. Dubeau does an excellent job adding all of these elements without making it a mess. A wonderful, gruesome, and at times disgusting read! 4.5/5!

Starting this 📖😊

I was honestly a little unsure of the book at first but it kept me completely enthralled. I hope there‘s a sequel because this was just fantastic.

When I saw people excitedly talking about his new book I knew I needed to play catch up. This gory supernatural horror was surprising and fun. I think there were some issues with character development, but there is definitely room for that to resolved as the series goes on.

I got a review copy of the sequel (before I realized it was a sequel) so I‘m playing catch up. I only read a bit last night but it really jumps right into the action.

This felt like a Stephen King novel to me. It had a great build up and such an interesting concept. There were so many characters with so many motivations and plot points which I loved. My main complaint was that the ending felt rushed in comparison to the rest of the book. There was such a complex plot system and it seemed to wrap up quite simply and rather quickly. Still a great book though.

This book was so good (full of good scary horror)....until about halfway through it became TOO horrific. I was reading in bed and snapped the book shut in a panic (ok, I admit that I actually got up and HID the book under a pile of other books so I couldn‘t even see it). I didn‘t think I was such a wimp but, well, there it is 😂

Finally decided to use the Amazon gift card I‘ve had lying around for months. Starting on A God in the Shed first since I‘m craving some horror. #bookhaul

With Charlotte, anything can be a pillow. This book is ok so far, appropriately gory, but the writing is a little freshman writing workshop
