2 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
Is it possible that one person can change the opinion of eleven others in a criminal trial? The Judge requires a unanimous verdict. It is Friday and, increasingly, there are compelling reasons why several of the jury members need to be released from service. The foreman, a local business women, struggles to hold on to her authority. The first vote results in a count of eleven for 'not guilty' and one saying 'guilty'. As the discussions proceed, and the drab, secured jury room produces additional pressures, the jurors begin to clash. This leads to an extraordinary outcome as the justice system is tested to its limits.Twelve Troubled Jurors is the second publication forming part of the Novella Nostalgia series linking iconic cinema classics with modern stories.

My son read this play in school and asked me to check it out. I'd seen the film and loved it but got an entirely new view from reading the play. Sometimes reasonable doubt is all you need to start a conversation but true colors don't bleed. Extremely relevant still today and a great, quick read.
I think this is how I end my reading year and I'm totally okay with that!

Chrissyreadit How are you? I was just thinking that you are one of the people who has made litsy so special for me. (Litsyversary‘s do that I guess) 3y

I was introduced to Tony Dury's novella's when I read Lunch with Harry. I really enjoyed reading it so I looked forward to reading his next book, twelve troubled jurors. The book is only 42 pages long, so you can read it in one sitting. The book is inspired by the movie 12 angry men.

Teresaqu Great glad you are enjoying the Novella Nostalgia series...so am I! 7y
