Oishinbo: Ramen and Gyoza, Vol. 3
Oishinbo: Ramen and Gyoza, Vol. 3: A la Carte | Tetsu Kariya
4 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Few foods inspire as much passion and partisanship as the dish of noodles in broth known as "ramen." Hot or cold, plain or miso, from fancy fusion creations to humble roadside takeout, ramen is truly a beloved food, one that can give rise to fierce loyalty or fiercer criticism (not to mention the occasional fistfight). In this volume of Oishinbo, Yamaoka and company inquire into the "soul of ramen," from the flour used in the noodles to the chickens used in the broth. And where there's ramen, there's gyza: little dumplings made with a variety of fillings and served as a side dish. Will Yamaoka be able to create an "ultimate" gyza before Kaibara creates a "supreme" one? -- VIZ Media

This is a compilation of themed stories about Ramen and Gyoza. While some of them were a little boring I enjoyed how intense the competition and opinions were!

TOKYO BOOKSTORE (KINOKUNIYA) 20% OFF SALE - BOOK 6 of 6

(I know this is technically two books, but I will never be convinced that graphic novels really count as books.) I've enjoyed two in the series and plan to read all six towards the "comic book for all ages" category of #readharder2017. 6 graphic novels count as one real book, maybe. :-)

LeahBergen I don't really read graphic novels either but I liked these! 8y
saresmoore From one comic hater to another, El Deafo really was a bearable (almost enjoyable) all-ages comic. Still probably not a real book. 8y
Dragon Okay, now I'm craving dumplings and noodles 🍝 8y
Simona Few days ago I just finished my first graphic novel and I like it enough, that I'm willing to explore this field a little more ... but it's a interesting way to reach younger, no-real-books-reading audience. 8y
