Devils‘ Line, volume 5 (from my TBR pile)
Been a while since I last read this series 😆 Had to do a bit of recalling to catch myself up to the story. Will probably need to flip through some previous volumes later. Overall enjoyed this read. Nice seeing the main and side characters again. But that backstory in this volume….😭

Still really loving this series! Only two books in and this sequel series is proving to be just as well done as the original. I love that the story from the first series is being continued, but at the same time, there are also new characters and things happening.
Some cool twists and reveals in this volume!

What an ending! Some stuff I expected, others came as a complete surprise. Lots of action, the story gets a good wrap-up, leaving just enough to the imagination to satisfy me.
Now to start Tokyo Ghoul:re and see where the story goes.

So much was brought up in this volume, and lots of new characters were introduced, humans and ghouls both. More connections between the past and present are revealed, and the battle for who will survive begins.
I will be sad when this series is over. It is such a great story.

Things are really speeding up, characters are getting more complex, and we're finally getting answers to things. I especially liked that Uta was a focus on this one.
pickThis entire volume is a lot like the cover- crazy, bloody, intense, and impossible to take your eyes off of.
I personally really enjoyed the different backstories that are presented in between the fight scenes. The paneling and artwork are amazing in this one! With only 3 books left, I can't wait to see how everything comes together.

pickIn this volume, the fight scenes were more intense and suspenseful, making this a thrilling read.
Kankei is fighting for what he feels is right, but at the same time, letting his inner Ghoul out is taking a toll on him.
Lots of secrets with the doctor who did Kankei's transplant are uncovered in this one. And once again, there's an epic cliffhanger at the end.

This one took me completely by surprise with its cliffhanger at the end! 😲
Even if you aren't a manga fan, but you like dark action- packed horror, you should definitely give this series a chance.
pickThis has one of the most intense battle scenes I've ever read. There was so much going on, but the author did an excellent job of making it easy for the reader to follow all the action.
Other volumes have been dark, but this one goes even deeper as the Ghouls, the CCG, and the Aogri Tree all fight for power and control.

Kankei finds an inner strength he didn't know he had when he is kidnapped and tortured. He has so much character development in these 200+ pages. This one is gruesome, full of action, but still packed with an excellent story as well.
