Jungle
Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival in the Amazon | Yossi Ghinsberg
7 posts | 5 read | 10 to read
“A powerful story of self-discovery, survival in the wild.” —Los Angeles Times Four travelers meet in Bolivia and set off into the heart of the Amazon rainforest, but what begins as a dream adventure quickly deteriorates into a dangerous nightmare, and after weeks of wandering in the dense undergrowth, the four backpackers split up into two groups. But when a terrible rafting accident separates him from his partner, Yossi is forced to survive for weeks alone against one of the wildest backdrops on the planet. Stranded without a knife, map, or survival training, he must improvise shelter and forage for wild fruit to survive. As his feet begin to rot during raging storms, as he loses all sense of direction, and as he begins to lose all hope, he wonders whether he will make it out of the jungle alive. The basis of an upcoming motion picture, Jungle is the story of friendship and the teachings of nature, and a terrifying true account that you won’t be able to put down.

A true story of a young Israeli man named Yossi's fight for survival in the Bolivian jungle.Backpacking through South America, he befriends Kevin from America and Marcus from Switzerland. The three meet a German man named Karl who promises them an adventure of a lifetime, offering to guide them through the jungle. It quickly goes wrong and Yossi finds himself alone. No weapons, little food and much suffering. Amazing that he lived to tell his story

HeathHof There were some truly gruesome and horrifying things that he had to endure to make it out but he did so against all odds. Not a recommendation for the squeamish.🤢 4y

Today's #3books that #havebeenmadeintoamovie Since my current books lead character plays many bookish roles, I went ahead and just chose 3 that he has starred in. I haven't seen Jungle yet but I am looking forward to it! @OriginalCyn620 @alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Not all adventures go as planned. Unbelievable what some people can endure and power through to survive. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys adventure, outdoor, and survival stories.

I watched Jungle starring Daniel Radcliffe and did not know it was a true story based on a book 😒 Has anyone read the book? Thoughts? Btw, the movie was pretty good and great performance by Radcliffe ☺

A true adventure detailing the trials and tribulations of world travelers going woefully ill-prepared into the Amazon rainforest. A fast and exciting read that left me with a fearful respect for the nearly uninhabitable jungle.
