Finished. It was kind of predictable yet had a small plot twist I didn‘t see coming.

My current. Read so far it‘s ok
This is my first book by Chevy Stevens and I‘m definitely reading more. I was all in with this story and was mad when I had to stop reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Toni Murphy and her boyfriend, Ryan, were convicted of murdering Toni's sister, Nicole while they were teenagers. They were sent to prison. Thirty-four years later, Toni is out on parole and back in her hometown. A condition of her parole is that she is not to have any contact with Ryan. But Ryan is convinced he can figure out the truth. Toni's mother doubts that Toni is innocent.
Toni is being released from prison after 16 years locked up for the murder of her younger sister. She says she didn‘t do it. The question: who did? The book alternates from present day to the weeks leading up to the murder. I often find this technique makes a story feel disjointed, but it worked well here. And although I never liked Toni, I still found myself turning the pages to find out what happens next. A satisfying ending!
Toni and her boyfriend Ryan where incarcerated for the crime of murdering her sister as teenagers (they didn‘t, she swears). Now in her thirties Toni is out and trying to pick her life back up but Ryan wants to find who stole their life from them that night.
Quick read.
BEST book I‘ve read in ages!! I read it over a couple of days and was thinking about it when I wasn‘t, just really great characters and a nice flowing book
JANUARY! I failed horribly in 2020, so this year I‘m a little more realistic and aiming for 4 books a month
Really well done, I finished it in two sittings because I couldn't wait to see the conclusion.
This book is labeled a psychological thriller.....I wouldn‘t call it that, however it is pretty good. It‘s a slow start but builds up. It‘s pretty obvious what really happened but you find out an extra tid bit you probably wouldn‘t be expecting.
Another great book. Chevy Stevens has a great way of keeping you interested as you keep turning the pages.
This is about of Toni and Ryan, a high school couple who are committed of murdering Toni's sister. But once they come out these two get out they are thinking of nothing more then solving this murder.
They have a feeling who the actual murder is, now they just need to prove it
Another story I simply couldn‘t put away. I was surprised that there were almost no surprising turns when the story came towards its end and here and there I was doubting that getting relevant information should really be so easy for Toni and Ryan. But that doesn‘t bother my rating. I liked how the story was told and definitely felt for Toni.
Investigation wise it might not be all accurately – but the book definitely gripped me.
As @Shemac77 posted about “Still Missing” which sounded so interesting to me that I immediately browsed my online library‘s catalogue for the author, I found this audiobook.
The initial setting is unusual, at least for me, so I am curious if the story can keep what I imagine it to promise.
Oh, and it‘s ➕1️⃣ on my online library‘s wish list again. So #BookishGoal 48 again. 🤷🏽♀️🙃
My latest #bookhaul from the last week or so. Not sure which to read first!
I thought this book was excellent. I really enjoyed Toni. I‘ve never read a tough girl protagonist like her. The mother pained me. Ryan was wonderful, another great depiction of a tough guy. Solid read.
• My cousin knows my love for books so she let me plunder through about 40 titles today. She let me take these home! I tried not to be TOO book-greedy but it‘s hard 😩 Thankful for these beauties! •
Woohoo!!! #BookOutlet haul came when the fiancé was at work (man did I luck out). #bookmail
I had to find titles that didn't start with the word 'The'. That seemed like a cop out.

Excellent twisty turny thriller.
I lived near Campbell River for 8 years, reading about the island always gives me a thrill.
Every Chevy Stevens I‘ve read so far has been wonderful. Give her a try if you‘re into the thriller genre.
Impulse book haul for the day! #JodiPicoult #ChevyStevens #LisaJackson #GreatDeal
What a page turner! There were some predictable moments but then there were also some surprises! I had to work hard to pace myself and not tear through it.
I hate that I have to leave my comfortable spot on the couch with my shake and this page turner to go to the supermarket and then do grad work!
From a purely entertainment perspective, I thought the book was fast-paced and had some fairly developed characters that you could identify with (or in some cases despise). I also thought the book had glimpses of a political commentary on the criminal justice system, and how once you are in the system, it is easy to be trapped there (set in Canada, I was interested to see the similarity to the US system).
Home stretch. The killer wasn't really ever the question, it was who was the victim's mysterious boyfriend--I suspected the right person for about twenty chapters. Interested to see if/how justice plays out in these last minutes.
A friend recommended this author. I'm not sure that this is my typical genre, but it has been a great audiobook pick and I've been enjoying listening while doing chores and errands.
Kind of a slow read.. 😒 Almost reads like a memoir. Not enough happened for me until the last half or so. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Started this one today 👍🏻
Grabbed this at work tonight 😆 She might be a new favorite!
Great book!! It took me a little while to get into it but once I did, I didn't want to stop reading till the end.
This book was a delivery via the Willoughby Book Club. And I loved it! The story is compelling with vivid and complex characters. The use of different time periods (leading up to the event the story focuses on, the central character's time in prison, and the period during which she is searching for evidence and trying to rebuild her life) really shows how a person changes depending on their circumstances. Beautifully written.

Wow!! That is all I can say about this book!! I can honestly say, for a change, I didn't see that coming!
What I'm reading now. Just started, but it definitely has me interested. Too bad I have this little thing called work to intrude on my reading.
