Sad, funny, real & completely honest.
It‘s a book about divorce & love filtered with good memories and bad ones and all the things that make and break a relationship. I just want to listen to it all over again. So, so good!

“So we stood and stared at one another and it was quiet and our faces were saying sad things.”
This book is amazing! It‘s reminding me of Bukowski in a way.

The #audio is read by the author and it genuinely feels like he‘s just chatting away about his life and Sarah. I think it‘s semi-autobiographical but it‘s marked as fiction so not entirely sure. So honest and raw.
This was a short but rough story about the end and beginning of a marriage. It is brutal in its covering of every emotion and in depicting how loss and desperation can make a person pretty unlikeable. My first book by the author but I will definitely read others.
This is a raw and intimate portrait of falling in love, falling apart, divorce, and renewal in Beckley, wv. In alternating short chapters we get to see the relationship at its beginning and then when it is coming apart. Scott‘s desperation is depicted so vividly as he talks about depression, loneliness, alcoholism and eventually some hope. #readharder #micropress #100milesofwhereilive #bookriot

Trying to #deweysreadathon with two kids and an activity filled day hasn‘t worked out so well. But I did manage over 100 pages of Homegoing and hit up my favorite local bookstore and picked out some birthday presents for myself. #bookhaul #micropress #tyrantbooks
"There is only one thing I know about life. If you live long enough you start losing things. Things get stolen from you. First you lose your youth, then your parents, then you lose your friends, and finally, you end up losing yourself."
I inhaled this book flying home yesterday. It will be one of my favorites of the year.
Scott McClanahan was unknown to me. Everything has changed. Divorce is so well-told and gutting. Experience this book.
Current read. I am halfway through and so far it is fantastic. It will be one of my favs of 2017. A powerful novel about love, heartbreak and raw emotion.
Indie #Bookhaul video. This book= narcissism; yeah, cuz I'm Sarah. Not THE Sarah, but... #indiebooks https://youtu.be/VHhr7VdZHEA #booktube
I am reading based on an interview with the author. He lives in West Virginia and grew up in a world so devoid of art, when he went to write he was too ignorant not to make certain mistakes. Thank god.His writing is raw, rough, painful, darkly comic and completely great. This is what I hoped would happen after the Fall of Publishing...an Indy house publishes a fast ball out of nowhere that is brutally honest and great.
#TBRtemptation just scrolled past this on instagram... maybe need to take a stroll by @chopsueybooks and pick up a copy!
