pickIn this historical novel set in World War I France, a young woman suspects her fiancé did not die at the front, even though all the official evidence says he did. Heartsick, she becomes obsessed with finding out the truth. The plot is complicated, and the ending was not what I was expecting. ⬇ï¸
julieclair Although I listened on audio, I think reading the book would have been better. There were so many names of French people and places, that I had difficulty keeping track of them all, particularly since the narrator used French pronunciation. #BookedInTime @Cuilin 4mo
