Joy of Less: A Minimalist Guide to Declutter, Organize, and Simplify (Updated and Revised)
Joy of Less: A Minimalist Guide to Declutter, Organize, and Simplify (Updated and Revised) | Francine Jay
Francine Jay pioneered the simple living movement with her self-published bestseller, The Joy of Less. In this fully redesigned and repackaged edition featuring never-before-seen content Jay brings her philosophy to more readers who are eager to declutter. Rather than the "crash diet" approach found in other tidying up books, Jay shares simple steps to cultivate a minimalist mindset and form new habits, paving the way to lasting success. Her easy-to-follow STREAMLINE method works in any space from a single drawer to a closet, room, or entire house. What's more, it can be called upon during clutter-inducing life events such as moving, getting married, having kids, or downsizing. With an airy two-color interior design and lovely hardcover package, The Joy of Less is a refreshing and relatable approach to decluttering that belongs in every home."

Might not look like it, but my shelves are about 150 books lighter. It started with me trying to go through my books to see what to pack for my trip. Because my shelves were 3 rows deep in most sections it was so frustrating! So I decided to donate all the books I knew I wouldn‘t love or duplicates. The cubby at the far right bottom contains the only books I‘ve already read & will keep. I‘m sure someone will find treasures in my donation!

RadicalReader @EvieBee what a remarkably wonderful gesture especially when it comes to books if someone doesn‘t love it someone else surely will 7y
Nicohlay Where did you donate them to? I need to do the same thing lol I have 5 tall bookshelves and some are doubled up. I know realistically there are quite a few that I felt were just so-so and really don't need to keep them. 7y

erzascarletbookgasm Wonderful and your shelves look beautiful! Wish I can zoom in and read the titles! 7y
EvieBee @RadicalReader Thank you so much! It lessens the anxiety of parting with my books when I remember how I came to own most of my most treasured books—second hand bookstores! 7y
EvieBee @Nicohlay I‘m lazy today, as we are leaving out of town, so I‘m just taking them to my local library nearby. They have a library bookstore inside for donations. Usually I‘ll drive to a children‘s literacy program warehouse and leave them there. That‘s excellent! You‘ll have to tag me on results! 🤓🤗 (edited) 7y

I put the office bookshelf into the newly empty corner of my bedroom next to the nightstand. Top shelf: library books and years-old #TBR books. Oh, and my #summersantagoespostal box, still awaiting a couple more deliveries. Second shelf: a box of k-cups, because coffee. 😉 (Yes, my Keurig lives on my nightstand!)

My life has become caffeine and reading. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gayan I love this. Coffee and reading is a fine life. 💖🙋 8y
dariazeoli @Gayan Let's put that on a t-shirt, please! 👏🏻 8y
Gayan I'm down with that! 😂 8y

Ebook readers - I have a question for you. How do you store/organize your virtual collection? I save them on a virtual cloud but I also like to carry around my collection. I upgraded to a 32gb(!!!) flash drive today in hopes of consolidating all the ebooks I have. Organization is another stressful part. I need help.

#TBR - My wish list! An awesome coloring book of classic Alice in Wonderland drawings and one that advises how to live a simplistic life. Plus, I have a book cover fetish. 🙃However, is it not ironic that I seek a book that talks about buying less, while needing to buy more in order to learn such simple living? 😛 oh, the fates!
