The One in the Middle Is the Green Kangaroo
The One in the Middle Is the Green Kangaroo | Judy Blume
3 posts | 4 read | 1 to read
Quintessentially funny Judy Blume! Second grader Freddy Dissel has that left-out kind of feeling. Life seems lonely when you're the middle kid in the family. Freddy feels like "the peanut butter part of a sandwich," squeezed between an older brother and little sister. But now for the first time it's Freddy's chance to show everyone, including himself, just how special he is! From the Trade Paperback edition.

Lets read some Middle Grade books. Middle grade books usually fall between 4th grade and 8th grade. For this part of the challenge, younger chapter books are okay as well.

explanations
Cover Change Mid series means they changed the cover after the first book but before the series ended. ie. Lightening Thief.

new Classics - written after the 80's but before 2010

When in doubt ask a librarian

BooknerdsLife Hahaaa Lightning Thief was the first book that came into my mind right away too!!! 🤣🤨 5y
alisiakae Do you have some suggestions for new classics? I'm trying to read solely from Maya's bookshelves, and prefer them to be books I haven't read before. Nim's Island and The Tale of Despereaux were two I was thinking about for this prompt.

Mehso-so

I read this one SO many times as a kid. It is still cute, and every kid with siblings can relate to the feeling of being lost in the shuffle. It is not my favorite, but I‘m glad I introduced my kids to it.

Side note: This is the cover of the edition I had as a kid, found courtesy of google.

#17rainbowbooks # greentitleorauthor

I have plenty of green books but I could only find this one with green in the title. Must say I did not enjoy this Blume book as much as I did her others titles.
