Perhaps it's time for him to get married, they say.But who has time for marriage when there's a murder to be solved? When Mrs. Gentle dies under mysterious circumstances, the town is shocked and outraged. I thought this book was written at a very rushed pace for the first 7 or so chapters, with brief descriptions and short snappy sentences, very unliks most of M.C. Beatons work, but I was very happy with how it came together at the end!
I especially liked the idea of Blair having to wed Mary/Ruby as a punishment for what he done to Hamish! Finally some payback 😈

(Unfortunately it was an eBook.. 😭 My one hate with reading)

I loved this book in the Hamish MacBeth Series, it may be the 23rd book in the series but I think it is one of my favourites so far. Hamish at his very best with plenty of humour involved, and yet again plagued by romance and the women in his life. In this one he actually asks someone to marry him, Read the book to find out who and what happens. 😂 As well as these problems Hamish also finds himself targeted. I do heartily recommend this book.

Crazeedi I started this series, then stopped, must get back to it! 6y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi I love these as quick reads between the heavier, longer or grittier Murder Books. Also good if you want to progress in number of books Read. 6y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 oh that's a great idea, they are quick reads! Thanks for suggesting! 6y

My first Hammish mystery! A proper Highland mystery complete with Russian operatives, lots of suspects and a crazy family vying for a million dollar inheritance. 🕵🏻‍♂️

Booksnchill Love love Hamish- the Highland Christmas on audio is a Christmas tradition for me! 6y

Had a major case of insomnia last night. Managed to get almost 2 hours of sleep (which is almost worse than no sleep), so here's hoping I can at least take a nap today. The one good thing about not sleeping is that I managed to read both of these books and a quarter of another mystery. Both of these were good, say 3.5 stars, and they're comforting reads to me. After this, my library doesn't have these as ebooks - what am I to do?!? #litsomnia

Megabooks So sorry! Two hours is pretty much the worst. 8y
LauraBrook @Lindy @Ebooksandcooks I managed an hour nap, so it was something. If I could get off of Litsy, I'd be in bed! Hope you both are having good sleeps. 😴 8y
