Hey all! @cwarnier @Littlewolf1 @LibrarianRyan
Here's what I've go floating around as ideas.
I'll tag the other books on the comments.
Elfquest looks a bit long if that turns anyone off.

I wanted to join this spin-off of the original 7 days of covers because I love graphic novels. Elfquest was my first comic love. I re-read this series so much as a child, and I still have all my original graphic novels and comics. Plus, a signed post-it from Richard Pini.

#requiredreadingredo. What book did you have to hide from your parents? Here‘s my #NSFP choice. I was (of course) not allowed to check these out at the library, I used to hide in a little alcove in the YA section to devour them, hidden behind a larger book in case my mom came to check on me. #graphicnovel #kindanaughty
I just can‘t get into this. I finished volume one and it‘s meandering tales, because I‘m a completist, after all.
I will say there is imagination and world building galore. It‘s just the dated ideals (not to mention ideal body types - there is no variation) and the ‘recognition‘ and a few other things that just keep me from really getting into this series.
Fourth #freakyfriday pick done, and sorry to say it just wasn‘t for me.
So Friday night I downloaded Volume 1 of The Complete Elfquest on hoopla. Notice how it says 208 pages. I thought to myself ‘I can knock another #freakyfriday pick in one evening, awesome!‘
Imagine my surprise when I opened the downloaded book and the page count was actually closer to 700!! 😳😂 it‘s going to take a bit longer than one evening (but I am almost halfway done).
The book took me a lot longer to read than I expected. The Pini's fill each page with rich story and fantastic characters. There's a huge cast, but everyone feels like a unique.
The world and its mythos is phenomenal. The Pini's don't waste a panel. I feel the sweat and soul they've poured into this title. And by the time I turned the last page, I felt I had gone on my own epic journey. It was brilliant.

One of my favourite childhood villains, I'm glad to see the comic is as good as I remember it. I love that she's this terrible, toxic evil, but the elves seeing one of their own as a villain is so foreign to them that they can't bring themselves to kill her. They keep thinking she can be redeemed or something. It's fantastic!
I love the paneling here, showing two things happening at once. And the way she introduces this device is great. They mention Savah and we get an image of her, but it continues as she struggles with some inner torment. It's fantastic and does a really clever job of tying the two storylines together.
This chapter was great. Fun balance of humour, story-building, and shenanigans
Wow. This whole Recognition thing is pretty creepy and gross. They're destined for each other? I guess that's suppose to seem romantic. Kind of looks more like a curse to me.
It's a really fantastic story with a great mythos. Something tells me though that the Pini's are either hippies or heavily influenced by that movement. :p
Humans are bad, elves are angelic and good, healing hands, telepathy, magical amulets and wolves. Add some crystals in there and I'll feel like I'm shopping down the New Age aisle. Hahaha
And so the journey begins! Haven't read this series since I was a teenager. The art is really great! Looking forward to rediscovering this old thing.
Got my first stack of comics for July together. Trying for 30 comics in 30 days (again)! I know July has 31 but I prefer round numbers lol. So far I'm on track. Here's hoping I can DO IT!! 🤓

I would be game for any of the other ones. I do however love Scooby Doo :) 4y
