I have read a few of Richard Laymon's books. Although the horny teen boys grow tiresome, his books are always a crazy ride. I had heard this called one of his best, so I decided to try it.

This book was not what I expected. I found myself getting bored with the lack of action, and lack of anything really scary. In fact, the last 10% of the book was the only interesting part for me. This was a disappointment.

A friend of mine recommended me Laymon years ago and he's been stuck on the TBR pile since, so I decided to give this one a go. Honestly, I was disappointed. I went in thinking it'll be like an adult verison of Darren Shan's Cirque Du Freak but what I got was more King's Stand By Me. A coming of age story. I kept waiting for something to happen and it didn't 🙈

Maybe listening to audio books while walking through a fog isn't a great idea. 😂

I've read a total of 2 hours and 23 minutes on the first day of #25inFive Not bad for a readathon I just learned about.

So, I'm just learning about the #25INFIVE readthon and decided to join. I've read a little bit today but will do a full update when I finish my daily reading.

After a really hectic March with work, school, and a leaking gas pipeline I'm hoping everything is finally settling down.

I'm not that far into this (130 pgs) and I'm not sure where it is headed but so far so good
