This was the worst attempt at a plot twist.

This is definitely a strong sequel to The Killing Lessons! But it lacks some of the immediacy of the first book and I figured out who the killer was WAY early on! Back at it #25inFive. Rainy day in Georgia, but it‘s hard to stay awake. I got up at 7:00 and ran 5 miles this morning. I just want to nap 💤💤

Another amazing novel by Saul Black. I enjoy strong female leads that are aware and accepting of their flaws & use them to make themselves better.

This was another great book featuring Detective Valarie Hart. I predicted a couple of the twists, but still thrilling. I like how Black gets into the characters' psyches and portrays their largest vulnerabilities and states the universal truths most people don't want to acknowledge. Hopefully there's another book featuring Valarie Hart in the future!

I loved the first one in this series, but wasn't a big fan of this one. Too much sexual violence that didn't serve a purpose in the character development or the plot. Disappointing.

I really enjoyed this book. It was dark, but I tend to like my mystery/thrillers on the dark side. I will be reading future books in this series. This is definitely a pick for me!

Finished it--the ending was slightly gratuitous but a good read overall. There are some images it will take a while to get out of my head so this is not for the faint of heart.
