I think that this book is a great book to teach children about freedom and struggle that African Americans had to go through for years.

Pickpick

Biography and was written in 1993. This is a story of how Martin Luther king jr. became such an influential figure in the United states of America. He wasnt just a civil rights leader he was also a reverend. He helped change this country to become unsegregated and have everyone enjoy the freedoms of living here in the states. The happy birthday part is because each year one day is set aside to celebrate all that he did for this nation.

🎶I just never understood
How a man who died for good
Could not have a day that would
Be set aside for his recognition🎶

I somehow don't have anything by Dr. King, or even any Baldwin on my shelves right now, so I decided to highlight some great black authors whose books I do have. I've been reading a lot more #diversebooks lately, but many have been from the library and my shelves are still white as hell. #workingonit #happybirthday

Natasha.C.Barnes @RealBooks4ever Really? Awesome! I just bought it. 7y
