I really have Stockholm Syndrome with these books lol. I haven‘t really thought any of the sequels were particularly good, but alas! I‘m too invested in the lore and charmed by Herbert‘s Known Universe to quit. An interlude… and then on to book 5.

The story overall is great, but significant problems do exist with the plot/characters. Leto II is supposed to be seen as good, yet most all of his actions-and reasons for them-are horrid things. His "path" didn't need all of his excess, yet he did so anyway. Similar issues plague other characters. Still, a very deep and fun read. If you liked the books in the series up to now, this should be a great read for you.

I ended the series on this book. It is may favorite of the four. Leto sees into the future and must carry out his Golden Path to save humanity while being scorned and plotted against by short sighted rebels.
